Hi there! I'd like to start discusion on to where's easier to trade horses? We all know for the other sports BETDAQ is useless, but overall horse racing liquidity is not bad out there. Read somwhere that due to gaps ThePurple is easier to be traded...
Me personally can't tell as I'm a newbie. Your views and insight much appreciated!

I wouldn't say by any means it was easier to trade on Betdaq, if anything it is more difficult.

Most People only use Betdaq because they are sick of the Betfair p.c, lack of customer service and the site problems.

You have to weight up the pros and cons for both and see what wins.

It's probably easier to use Betfair TBH as you can use much smaller stakes and green up easily whereas Betdaq, rather stupidly, has restrictions. Both present opportunties though. As somebody who who was around at the start of things Betdaq behaves in a manner similar to when Betfair was in it's early days.

Anyone that traded both markets, how in sync were the two markets with each other? Were there some simple Arb opportunities whereby you could just stick your back bet in on BF and your Lay bet on BD? As long as your bank in both accounts allowed for it to make it worth while?
I realise money wont be recycled quickly as it is using the same trading platform site but surely the markets are not perfectly in sync with each other?

Commission would kill any chance of decent risk free arbs as the markets were always very close. Its a different ball game to Betfair and at the moment is only a viable alternative on big races. Even then it takes some getting used to with the loss of key tools like Market depth and the stability of the platform was questionable at times.

Yes they are more or less perfectly in sync give or take the odd tick or two now and again.

I guess people have been doing this from day 1 so i would doubt it would be worth while trying.
