Yes, any connection or BF issues can cause a rule not to trigger.

I'm thinking it could be the later, there's another user posting on another thread at their bot never trigger, it was on the same same although it was IP there could still have been intermittent issues with BF - especially if its triggered fine the rest of the time like there's has done
Yes, it's triggered fine on all other races today.
Does BA have any error logs it records problems to?
If orders are rejected by Betfair or timed out these will be written to the log, but if there's a any type of loss in communications it can't report that (as there's no connection).
Given my ExportPnL rule didn't trigger till 7mins late, sort of indicated it was down for that long?

I guess in these sorts of scenarios you can't do a lot and just hope your open bets go your way, and a good reason to not use too big a stakes for your bank...?

Doesn't Guardian trigger based on PC clock time, hence it could log rule failed to trigger due to comms error...?
Yes it uses the PC clock, but the error messages it logs come from Betfair which couldn't happen without a connection.

Ah I see, maybe just write a generic msg "Failed to trigger rule X due to BF failure.."?

Many thanks for your help Dallas

You know I was darn lucky, it's the only time I checked on my pc to see how my automation was doing today, 1 min before this race, saw it had entered a bet, then didn't Green.... How lucky was I?!
I'd have been -£17 down given it was a lay bet if i had not noticed and it had gone the wrong way!

Add another Green all rule to trigger in-play
If you've already greened up it'll still trigger but won't place any bets, but you'll have a back up.

You could also set a signal with your pre-off rule, then on the IP rule use a signal set condition to test its NOT set
