I had an account with betdaq, but as it was funded in her majesty's currency so I decided to open a new account in €€ to avoid the exchange fees.
After many attempts and 8 emails I still can't fund my account.
This is really poor news to Betdaq. You see, I have an interest in opening and funding an account so I won't give up. But if I was the casual punter I would have give up by now
I'm dismayed with Betdaq. Running such a bussiness and not being able to get deposit shows there is something wrong.

Don't be fooledciangerry wrote:The turnover on Betdaq has been higher than Betfair for some of the Cheltenham races today. Is this a first?
On big races like Cheltenham it distorts their matched amount. On Betfair, if somebody has a £100 bet at odds of 16, it adds £200 to the turnover, Betdaq would add £1600

Having a credible alternative to Betfair is important in order to sustain the longevity of sports trading. I also sympathise with the views of people who cannot afford to experiment with what is acknowledged to be an inferior supplier.
Surely the answer is to migrate slowly to Betdaq.
My Betdaq bank is about 10% the size of my Betfair bank. Over a period of time I will increase the proportion from 10 to 20 to 30%. I will only execute those trades for which Betdaq is suitable. I.e. keep it simple and trade where liquidity allows.
If all traders took this approach then, over time, both Betdaq and Betfair would feel the difference and they would act accordingly.
We would all benefit in the long run.

That is probably my main reason too. I've just got so used to the features on BA for Betfair.gutuami wrote:I will not do anything seriously about BD until I have a proper BA version for it. At least with features I use most.
In fairness, I wouldn't mind paying extra for the Betdaq equivalent.

I'd like to put some realism into things.
When we introduced the Betdaq version it was the same as Betfair, but still very few people used it. The difference in versions show you how the latter has evolved since then. Despite frequent Betfair crashes, very few people still sign up for the Betdaq version. People often point to lack of liquidity, but I have proved that it's perfectly viable to trade on Betdaq, but still very few people sign up.
We've had hundreds new sign ups for Betfair since that last big outage but only a handful of new Betdaq customers. Unless we have a substantial increase in the number of people using the Betdaq version it will never be viable to spend money upgrading it, especially as it generates no revenue for us. And that in a nutshell, is the problem.

Hi Euler,
Same old,same old, isn't it.
Supply and Demand.
I am sure that once you have the demand you require to make it viable you will be on the case.
Ihe very fact that you have a version for Betdaq at all shows foresight.
On top of that it is Free.
Maybe if you started charging a nominal Subscription for the Betdaq Version this would allow it to evolve , albeit, at slower rate.

I don't think Betdaq will never be serious alternative for fulltime traders like me, until there is decent trading platform. I am trading mainly football, and this Ba Betdaq version is more or less useless, because it doesn't even show match names. I wouldn't mind paying extra for decent Betdaq trading platform either.
