how comes so many in south america have died of covid and it would appear there are currently many seriously ill and in the process of dying due to covid infection, if they are using this drug?ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 4:50 pm

Can't be bothered to go back to last night but wasn't this SB fella posting something about believing in sky daddy tales or some other Atheist claptrap? Apologies if it was someone else. It would be interesting if someone posted some Koran quotes instead just to see the silence and double standards from the political type bores...SweetLyrics wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 1:33 pmIt was interesting that SB's departure note referenced right wing politics.
I think that's what this is really about, and that he dislikes us because of his perception of our politics.
It's a shame when that happens - when politics becomes personal, instead of people expressing vastly different political views but remaining on good terms - but it is what it is. My guess is that SB sees us both as insular Little Englanders, when (in my case and probably your own) it couldn't be further from the truth.

You claim me to be a fabricator of story's to create trouble at the same time as fabricating the picture that I was responsible for Shaun leaving the forum. I guess I'm just a reflection of yourself.

Are you so stupid you don't know what a source is?

It's not just the ongoing censorship of non-mainstream views that are the issue, the media (especially the broadcast media) never seem to ask any searching questions.
For example, Kuenssberg and Peston only ever ask questions such as, why aren't you doing hasher lockdowns? why didn't you do it sooner? etc. and never, for example, what evidence do you have that lockdowns are not doing more harm than good?
There is also precious little coverage of the economic carnage being caused by these lockdowns - unless you're fat and over 80, the R rate you need to worry about most is Redundancy.

Bit of advice
Wait for the real people in the real world
who deal with it day in day out
To make statements
(eg lets say some have shared things)
Maybe a gov may share a bit with all tomorrow?

It's not being used everywhere in South America. Also there are no official trials of the drug. However many doctors around the world are looking into it.to75ne wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:02 pmhow comes so many in south america have died of covid and it would appear there are currently many seriously ill and in the process of dying due to covid infection, if they are using this drug?ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 4:50 pm

Very recently 100 South African doctors petitioned the president to trial/endorse it's use.
One very important thing, initially it was a drug used on cattle for parasitic infection, but has been found to be effective against SARs type viruses as well. A variation of the drug has also been used on humans for several years.
Apparently 350,000 doses were passed out in Bolivia.
There is some concern about which variants are available, also unauthorised use. There may be a case but the consensus is that it needs to be officially tested. In spite of that there are doctors in the US also trying to press for it's use.
The survival rate for under 60s with no known health problems is irrelevant, unless you're a Nazi and happy to have a cull the elderly and people with health problems.

The president of Brazil took the same view as Trump in that it's no worse than the flu so I suspect it spiralled out of control until it was too late.to75ne wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:02 pmhow comes so many in south america have died of covid and it would appear there are currently many seriously ill and in the process of dying due to covid infection, if they are using this drug?ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 4:50 pm

Last week Angela Merkel referred to the UK variant as, "this British virus" - imagine the furore (from the UK media) if Boris had referred to a German variant in the same way, and remember the stick Trump got for calling it the Chinese virus (which it is). Merkel is a beloved European so gets a free pass.
I'd guess it was just a slip of the tongue. Trump actually meant to cause offence.superfrank wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:04 pmLast week Angela Merkel referred to the UK variant as, "this British virus" - imagine the furore (from the UK media) if Boris had referred to a German variant in the same way, and remember the stick Trump got for calling it the Chinese virus (which it is). Come on Derek, you're better than that comment

And maybe give the poor kid a break, the pattern that I've seen is that a lot of younger people share his views, they only make a u-turn if their family members end up on respirators etc.
Plenty of people still live in their bubbles and that's what their perceptions and opinions are based on.
