After taking some time to reflect I'd like to apologise to the forum for my recent behaviour. Two people in particular, SB & TraderFred I'm sincerely sorry for the way I behaved towards you both, I'm not sure if SB will be back on the forum or even see my apology but I'll make it anyway.

I don't want to turn an apology into an excuse but I feel that I got deeply lost in the moment, dragging the forum into a place that's it's not intended for, I felt there was justification in reaction and simply put I was just wrong for doing so.

I know that we can all have differing opinions and sometimes it causes clashes but my actions of mocking people were vile and uncalled for. I said things that people won't be able to forgive or forget, I did so just to stir others emotions & I understand the negative perception I was creating.

I want to keep this short & sweet, I'm not expecting SB or TraderFred to forgive & forget but I hope firstly you see my apology and also see it as genuine.

Going forward I'm going to make an effort to stay away from controversial topics and conversations. I've realised there is simply no need to involve myself... the forum has plenty of useful areas where kind & knowledgeable people share their trading related thoughts. I think that's where I'll hang out.

Again I apologise to you all.

Class act James, nice to see ๐Ÿ‘

Don't worry about it too much, if it makes you feel better I remember 6 years ago picking a fight with the gentle giant JollyGreen, would you believe it, of all people, I was a cocky little sh** and had to make an apology post as well :D

Much appreciated James, I've probably overstepped the mark myself lately.

Hi James

I'm probably guilty of egging you on, so need to shoulder some of the responsibility!

I'm in two minds about what happened. I think it's fair to say that we both had unprovoked unpleasantness directed at us (like when someone I had not previously interacted with chose to sarcastically call me a 'serial loser'). Perhaps turning the other cheek would have been a better course of action - frankly, I think there were more constructive and enjoyable things that we could have been doing with our time than responding to childish barbs. That said, if people who make nasty remarks discover that sometimes they will encounter people who fight back, they might think twice in future.

With hindsight, I probably wouldn't have engaged in the conversation if I could turn back the clock, but I certainly don't feel guilt about responding flippantly to people who were directing unprovoked nastiness at me.

Fair play to you for apologising, though.

Jeff

There are certain subjects which divide us and lead to circular arguments which become more and more frustrating. Namely subjects to avoid; religion, politics and trying to tell normies that trading isn't gambling :D

When I 1st surfaced on here it was to say that sports trading was a parasitical pursuit that adds nothing of value to the world. Although there is a kernel of truth in that it was needlessly provocative and I do regret that now.

+1 to this

...so easily done, I've done similar on twitter and then on reflection deleted posts made in the heat of a discussion.

Well done James.

I also hereby apologize to Luke and Nivi for excessive memeing. I hope they can find it in their black hearts to forgive me one day.

Thats a good post James. It reinstates the integrity of this forum as a place for intelligent people that want to exchange knowledge and ideas.
And has been said, a few of us are guilty of being OTT, so I'll follow you and apolgise if I've wound anybody up.
