Hi
Don't know what has happened but all of a sudden I can not launch BA. Have tried reinstalling and removing recent Updates, but to no avail. All that happens is the log-in screen partially loads (but still remains transparent in some parts) then, without offering me the chance to sign in, it closes.
A similar thing is happening with BetBotPro who, after a week of email, are offering nothing in the way of assistance. I'm really hoping someone here can help. Have attached an email of what is happening.
Yes, incidently, I have been on here before with problems. My computer is supposedly ok for 5 yrs old, every virus checker, PC checker and all 3 techxperts I've had here tell me all is well, though I suspect different.
Please help.
Help: Can not launch BA
Removed all progs associated with BA, then installed anew. Same problem, but now comes with a Microsoft.NET Framework Unhandled Exception message, details of which I'm not sure how to attach, as it would require a very long email, and all logical extensions to save it as seem to be blocked (eg txt, docx).
It's been fine for the past 14 months. I'm no tech head, but I think the spec is:TheTub wrote:What is the specification of your machine?
I expect something 5 years old might struggle a little.
But from here it looks like a graphics issue.
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz
3.07 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM
Is that what you mean?
I will try to do that in a while. Someone on another forum advised me to do a system restore to a couple of weeks back. This has made no difference to this problem, except that now my computer is running intolerably slow. Attempting to follow your advice right now, I fear, would take me a good couple of hours.Euler wrote:Perhaps try setting up a new user in windows, installing and running from there. It could be there is some sort of issue with the existing user framework. That would help isolate the issue.
It looks like a system problem of some sort so a rollback or a complete system restore may solve it. I experianced something similar a few years back and a Microshaft update had messed things up and the restore did the trick.
If you need to be active in the next few hours you could use a VPS or another computer as a temporary solution.

Update: Created a new user and installed everything anew. Same problem. Did a system restore, back an entire month (after the 10 day one did not work). Same problem. Computer used pretty much just for BA, BBP and iTunes. Computer also acts as network host for house, which includes the wife's computer in her office, so any major redevelopment of system would likely stuff up our home network and take her out of action.
Any ideas at all? How about the content of the error messages? Surely something must be able to pinpoint this problem?

Ha. This has become a bit funny. I created a new user, stripped all the programs back as far as I dare and ran a heap more clean up programs and, all of a sudden, it loads the log in screen without crashing.
BUT, it seems my subscription must have expired in the last few days, so I can't get in to test it!!! So it looks like I am going to have to buy a new subscription in other to test whether I can use it or not!!!
