Hi All,
I'm sure a number of others had issues at Plumpton 13:50 yesterday. Basically what happened was that I had a number of lay and back bets pre-off placed, some settled pre-off and some went IN play. Then i had a separate set of bets placed IP.
Betfair seem to have adjusted some prices by the RF and not others. For instance the lay bets placed (on the winner) stayed as their original amount but the offsetting back bets placed but not matched at the same time were divided by 9.4.
I don't understand how Betfair have fairly applied "rule 4" as they keep quoting to me.
Don't you either divide all bets pre-off and IP by the same factor or you don't?
Anyway, any advice would be happy to hear it!
Thanks,

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but just reviewing yesterdays data in the Betfair pricing files and the BSP data for this race is all over the place: favourite at 1.04, 2nd fav at 1.6. I know not to place much heed by BSP data but I just dont remember seeing anything like 1.04 about a favourite with a 2nd fav at 1.6, - if I had I'd have been all over it.
Thanks in advance

I believe the long odds on favourite must have been withdrawn literally seconds before the off but it didn't appear to be picked up by the commentator. I myself had my arse well and truly kicked. I'd dutched the next 3 in the betting after the favourite. As they jumped off I was in profit straight away and seconds later showing what seemed to be a really decent profit. I assumed the favourite must have either whipped round, planted itself or started very slowly. I decided to cash out thinking if the favourite was still in the race better to cash out while I had a profit as I've seen it where these long odds on favourites having looked beat come through to win. As it turned out there was a massive rule 4 after the race and to make things worse even though I appeared to have a profit in cashing me out the system had layed the winner 'Khan' so I lost on that along with the rule 4 on the profit across the runners.m4rkwatson wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:00 amApologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but just reviewing yesterdays data in the Betfair pricing files and the BSP data for this race is all over the place: favourite at 1.04, 2nd fav at 1.6. Yeah pretty much the same here - I dutched too through a bot and didnt watch inplay, the bot hit Khan at around 44 so I accepted the hit when cashing up at the end of the day, but got a surprise this morning when updating my files and saw the 4.1 BSP and the 5/1 SP, and not the 44 I hit.
had the race on from 15mins before start time , obviously problems with the ground so a fair few non runners but 4 mins before the off 1.17m4rkwatson wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:00 amApologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but just reviewing yesterdays data in the Betfair pricing files and the BSP data for this race is all over the place: favourite at 1.04, 2nd fav at 1.6. fav withdrawn this was picked up by the commentator who passed on the info, IMO Betfair had more than enough time to take the fav out of the market but for what ever reason they chose to keep it in with a near 90% deduction
I was trading this race and when they let them go I was surprised because I could only see 5/6 runners.
BHA tweeted favourite had been pulled due to going, but it seems nobody really knew till the race had started.
P.S. I just merged two queries on the same topic on this thread for the benefit of everybody.

cant divide inplay odds by Reduction factor, say Redcution Factor was 50%, laying anthing under evens would be a free bet youd have people trying to lay millions
maybe it would be an option to clear all bets and only turn inplay once non runner is removed from the market, but then in this case i dont think anyone was aware the of the non runner until the race had started so they would have had to resettle...
