if you was a bookie, why would you ban/limit punters who are consistant winners?

not hard to work out really.

I have not used a bookie's in years as words really can not express how much i despise them  .

But The fact is 98% of punters never get to find out what they are really like  .

If you consistently give money to the bookmakers, you will forever be welcomed with open arms.

If you consistently take money off them, they will shut your accounts down (at least if you're betting online, where they can monitor you closely).

To act otherwise wouldn't really maximise their profits... :)

When I was initially restricted then finally banned from Hills, I got talking to a senior trader.
He told me that online bookies use a flagging system for many different events.
Back a winner, you are flagged. Back a steamer, you are flagged etc.
Enough flags of a certain type and they restrict/ban whether you are winning or not.

In my little town bookies are one of the major employers. If they (Ladbrokes, Hills, Betfred & an independant) shutdown there'd be another 20-25 people looking for work.

The Hills I pass regularly always has the same 4 men in it, well they're actually standing outside smoking most of the time. In that shop if you went up to the counter with £10 in your hand the staff would probably ring up for permission to lay.

I was in Morecambe the other day, and in their small town centre, 3 of the shops are bookmakers!

Wonder how many punters would stop using bookies if they knew what they were actually like,
most people never get into the position to find out but surely most people aspire's to and knowing the fact they will not let you win long term would certainly have put me off before the exchanges came along.

A panorama investigation is needed imo ;) would uncover alsorts of dodgy stuff no doubt.

Hate them

If you want to see lots of bookmakers then visit Glasgow, they're everywhere! I have never known a place with so many!
