Hi

I have been trying to pass some values from a csv to guardian as a stored value (rating for each horse), i have produced a csv using the guidelines in the csv in the template folder.
there dont seem to be any errors in the format And they are visable in the Log (except the values seem to change fro 0 to the correct value after every refresh ?).

I Have produced a custom column but the SV do not show on the Grid any ideas ?

Many thanks :D :o

I think you need to use SS, rather than S to denote that the SV should be shared. Hopefully, that will sort everything out.

This, taken from the example template:

# Column5: The Stored Value Type.
Use S to set the Stored Value on the Selection (local to this Automation instance).
Use SS to set a Shared Stored Value on the Selection.
Use M to set the Stored Value on the Market (local to this Automation instance).
Use SM to set a Shared Stored Value on the Market. Use E to set a Shared Stored Value at the Event level

So a typical line would then look like:

*,12:30,Albert Hucklebuck,*,SS,Rating,125

Hi Jimbit

thanks for the reply i did use SS at first with similar results, maybe i did something wrong so i will revisit it again using the SS value.
Iwould like to use the values on the grid alonf with my pace and dobbing data (using rows 8-10 etc...).

then hopefully i can pass some SV data back to my bot and my excel bot on my VPN

Looking at the times are you sure the bot isn't reading in the file multiple times - not that that should reset it to zero unless something else is...

I've not had any problems here but my logs just show the file being read once...

Hi sionascaig

Its quite possible that it is being read multiple times maybe i have a setting incorrectly set. I have noticed if I input the data manually into notepad++ and then upload the SV they work
correctly so its probably something to so with my csv formatting. I will keep you informed of my progress.

Why do you have a ton of commas after the first "1", the specification doesn't state to put commas after 1

If you look at the demo file it doesn't have them
# Data Format Code (Always set this to 1. Reserved in case additional formats are supported in future.)
1
# Rows of Stored Values to be applied to markets (and/or) selections matching criteria can be listed below
# Any row that starts with a # tag will be ignored and can be used for comments

Maybe give that a whirl as it might be causing something to go out of sync later on with the data

Solved !!

I have now got the Ratings / Dobbing & Pace information into guardian and its working great.
Thanks to all for the help , I have now been able to populate the csv on the fly to populate the grid

Are we able to pass comments like " Ran on well , needs to improve to have a chance in this race " ? or are we limited to values only

Values only I'm afraid. However, if you had a set of, say 20, well used phrases you can set them to 1 or 0 for each runner
Then just create a log entry for the ones set to "1"

Hi Jimbit

There was an issue in my export from my SQL database (white space) so i just trimmed and cleaned the values before the export and it works perfectly.
I thought it must be the csv as when i did a manual csv by hand guardian was fine.

Shame we cant pass Strings as could have produced a "Live Racecard" oh well never mind.

glad you got it sorted. as stu suggested, maybe allocating codes to the sentiments of the comments would allow them to be used logically within BA - i.e. you could rate the positivity of a comment in a range of 1-10 and could use that to drive further decisions along with other variables.

Hi Jimbit

Yep i will look into that going forward ,
do you know if the in play counter can be used as a vairable as i was thinking i have a "Projected Time " and number of furlongs by race type /distance/going for every course as a variables over 6000 racetimes that i use in my excel sheet
I was thinking if i could use that as a time /distance to run as SV

ie

Ascot Furlongs = 5 , Time = 61 AFP = 61/5 = 12.2 (avg per furlong)
SVtime = (Inplay timer - Time) ie race time in play 12 seconds SVtime = 61- 12 = 49 seconds left and 4 furlongs

do you think this is possible ?

I could then use use this info to back inside final 1f or last 10 seconds of the race

so, you could set a rule to set /svtime to the MAX seconds that the race lasts, then trigger a second rule every 1 second and get it to decrement the SVTime. then, when SVTime was at the required value, you ping the bet. in truth, potentially a Signal is a better candidate for this as it's made for this type of thing.
