Just subscribed to this Bet Angel thingy and the first thing I see is that bet profits are not shown minus the BF commission and there's no way to set it so it does.
Crikey - I hope I haven't splashed out on pile of crock here. I mean, that's the first thing I want to see in any half decent software dealing with betfair. Other software manages to show it, even the free software, so why can't this Bet Angel thingy do it.
It doesn't bode well for other basic functions if it can't handle this simple matter, something that's easily accommodated by other software.
Not impressed.
I keep a handwritten A4 sheet naming Meeting, Time, Stake, Profit, then Profit x 0.95, % of stake profit i.e.21%, still moving right add P x 0.95 to Betting Bank. Last column is per centage increase on BB at start of day.
For example say BB was £100.00 at start
First race used £20.00 stake. Made £4.00 profit
4x0.95 = £3.8 / £20 = 19% profit on stake.
BB now £100+3.8=103.80
Therefore BB has now increased by 103.8/100=3.8%
Next race make +4.07 net
BB now 103.80+4.07=107.87
107.87/100=7.87%
Not bad for 10 mins work, a fag + a cuppa tea. Betangel at £30.00 a month = £1.00 per day. 10/15 races and you'll increase BB by around 40-60%. Just compound stake as your profit increases and away you go. This Betangel 'Thingy' was new to everyone once. Like everything else you need to practice.
Good luck with your future endeavour, Laurence

I don't mean to be rude, but just use a calculator, Excel, or your brain to take 5% off
BA is a trading software and having a figure after commission is a bad idea. It completely distorts your position with regards to closing out trades
BF have so many charges these days, so it would be impossible to implement for the higher earners.
Inexperienced traders seem more interested in profits after commission, that's because the profits are few and far between. My advice to you is concentrate on becoming a better trader and worry about commission at the end of the day's trading

Of all the features that BA has you moan about thatFlashbuck wrote:Just subscribed to this Bet Angel thingy and the first thing I see is that bet profits are not shown minus the BF commission and there's no way to set it so it does.

It's something that virtually knowone wants or needs and thats why it's not in

It would infact be a useless feature to have in any trading software imo.
however im sure if there was a big demand for it it would have been implemented years and years ago as an option but it hasn't, so that should tell you something.
Learn how to use the software properly first and then you can moan about the software then if you feel the need too.
Instead of addressing each reply I'll just say that it's no answer to brush the matter aside. So what if some traders don't need it. Others do. Also, if you don't need it then it can if implemented easily be switched off. That's how it works on BF. You don't want to see what your commission is so you don't switch that function on. Simple. So why can't this Bet Angel thingy do it, as most others do? As for the suggestion that one should work out one's commission using a pen and paper or calculator etc, well that's just pathetic. It should be standard.
Well No Trader i know would need or want this feature, im sure it could be added as an option yes, but why would BA waste time implementing a feature that 99% of people would never use.
Maybe you could explain why you need it so badly ???,
then people might understand why it such a huge problem for you.
I mean You know you pay 5% commision on any winnings
so just check your betfair profit and loss when the bets are settled like everyone else.

Flashback, when we went to contact you we couldn't find your details on our system, your email address and IP don't match anything on the DB. Perhaps you can email support with your suggestion and why you think it is needed and we can add it to the development list and verify it as a genuine request.

Well I'm not surprised you can't get my email correct or find my details when you even get my username wrong - it's Flashbuck not Flashback.
As for emailing support re this matter, that'd be a waste a time because clearly if you could implement this basic function then you would have done so by now.
In other words, all the wriggling about it supposedly not being needed and all that is just evasive excuses - for some reason or other it can't be built in but you won't admit that's the case and so you hide behind spurious guff.
Anyway, I'm resigned to the fact it's a feature that you'll never find a way of implementing so even though it should be standard just forget I ever raised the matter.
Hi Flashbuck
I do think it might be worth including the option of displaying profit net of commission, but to wonder whether Bet Angel is a 'crock' because it doesn't have that feature is absurd.
Your comment is a bit like pointing out some trivial flaw with a Ferrari (a tiny scratch on the dashboard, maybe) and saying 'Load of rubbish!'.
Bet Angel is good enough for traders who make 6 figures a year, so I suspect it's good enough for you!
