That's the thing with successful 'bettors', LeTiss, we're a resourceful lot and happily find our own unique fixes for problems No offence to the OP but all the people I know doing this full time have pretty much drifted into it organically and relied on their own instincts to succeed rather than a set of rules. Everytime I see a post from people needing to ask if they should go full time it's obvious they shouldn't.

I became a bit of a recluse, a loner, it changed me as a person - how do you build that into the costs of being self-employed, Shaun? :)
I was an unsociable b'tard anyway LeTiss ;) happy in my own world with the drawbridge pulled up. Trading didn''t change me, it suited me.

and I couldn't get my head around the fact I had lost money before a match had started
Oh how true is that! You don't even get the buzz of the 'maybe'. It's like losing a wad of money in the street on the way to the bookies.

Whenever I made a decent profit, I decided to give 10% back. However, it was all part of re-wiring my brain, re-educating myself.
I've never heard that before but it's exactly what I decided to do last week....not necessarily 'giving' it back, but putting it in a virtual piggybank that was there to pay for losses (10% could be a bit low for me tho) What you've never had you never miss, well that's the idea.

No offense taken, I've drifted into it too over many years and couple of false starts. Fortunately I don't need to take my own 'advice'. I just wanted to show up some stark realities to the 'should I, shouldn't I' gang. If it was slightly overdone it was mainly to shock some sense into the type who make £50 on a saturady and want to hand in their notice on a monday.

To be honest it was actually a reaction to everyone crying and moaning about losing money last saturday, when as we know.....that's how it is sometimes, it's a 'cost' everyone who does it has a few times a year, so get used to it, plan for it. Then that made me think about other 'costs' they probably don't consider blah blah blah blah blah, i wrote it, i hit send.

I'm interested to know how many people actually make a living on this forum? (There's defo a few) maybe if you pay PC you should have a tick next to your name or something? Would help validate certain posts.

Looking at the time you posted, do you have trouble sleepng?
I have always thought Turnover was Gross sales rather than Net.
Yeah I've always had terrible trouble with sleeping. That's one of the benefits of being your own boss. No alarm clock.

Me too, that is why I am awake (though in bed) at 4.50am after 16 hours manual trading reading this thread. :D
