Hi, I am just starting to look into this and as a beginner it seems quite complex. I know exactly what I want to do as I have been tracking someting on a spreadsheet for 10 weeks now which seems to have legs from a profitability perspective. I'm just unsure where to start, I'm hoping to create a set of rules which I can apply to a limited number of markets each day without needing to change the rules for each selection. The main criteria will be the selection and the number of ticks above and below a certain price and additionally there is a ceiling price to add too. That's as complicated as it gets really, very simple for an experienced bot builder I'm sure. Regards Andy.

It really doesn't sound that complex - I'm sure you could give it a go yourself )

The bit that may need a bit of work is on how you choose your selection(s), but can use the "import CSV file" functionality for that, if say name dependent..

Remember practice mode is there for a reason...

I'm confused (doesn't take much.)

Are you telling us that you're going to build a bot ("I'm hoping to create a set of rules") or are you asking for someone to build it ("very simple for an experienced bot builder"), you'll have to get to the point Andy, it's better to be direct too. That way the people lurking in the back ground waiting to pull you & your idea apart can swiftly get about their business.

Good luck either way.

Hi Andy,

Few good links below, you'll probably find what you're after in the shared files section or at least a variation of it that you can tweak to suit . Automation can be pretty daunting starting out it was for me but its not as bad as you think once you dive in. Even try downloading some of the files in practice mode and if you go into the edit rules file section of Guardian you'll get an idea of how they work pretty quickly. Any term you don't understand if you pop it into the search bar in the quick links tab at the top of the page you should get an explanation somewhere on the forum of what it is and some practical examples.

Good luck

I have had a go at building the bot today and applied it to 3 races at Ascot, I'll see what happens..... Do people on here build bots for other people?

Yeah I'm sure some would for a fee. Problem is if you have a worthwhile & potentially profitable idea you're effectively giving it away or sharing it with the person who builds the bot for you.

I've mentioned it on the other thread. If you're going to pay somebody to write you a bot, just ask for the parameters (entry and exit points, conditions, etc.) to be editable on the spreadsheet, not hard-coded. That way you're strategy remains secret.
