Can someone tell me if they have the same problem with dongles. I am running BA on my laptop, its loaded with Vista operating system. I have a Vodaphone dongle 3gb running the software connection. The thing is it freezes, luckily i only use this when am away from my main 3 screen set up. Is there something wrong with BA and dongles in general, or is it the dongle connection, if it is Vodaphone ,what is the best dongle to use for BA connection when mobile. Could it be Widows clapped out Vista ?? , i do not no way use the stakes i do when at HQ with all this start stop, oh well rule 12 does it again do not trade with dodgy equipment

i have used a dongle with no problem xp not vista. currently i use a mifi, it as a slighty less bandwidth (so it seems at times) than the dongle., but never had any major probs with either. should add i am usually within 500 yrds or so of a cell site.

I used an Orange Dongle when my land line went down, I had no problems, I use win7. Cancelled the Dongle when I got my line repaired and got the first bill from Orange.

I do find that my 3 dongle freezes every so often.
I do not think its any thing to do with vista.
Personaly i have always put it down to some sort of signal drop out,but it might have somthing to do with low refresh rates on Ba.
When it freezes, what is your refresh rate and data request set at? My backup is set at 1 sec refresh and data is 5.

It was a dongle for me last week when the signal was intermittant. It worked fine when the signal was there but would freeze when the signal became too weak. It would then re-start updating when signal came back. I found upstair to have better reception then living room. I guess less interference the higher up your are.

I set it at 200 ms as when i am in the house, the connection mode is 0 (dont no what that one means thou) but i think it is the dongle providers, hence i wont no part of a 18 month contract for dropping signal strenghs. I suppose its much safer to trade to a hard wire or home broadband server than the mobiles, although saying that the review about Orange seems quite interesting and there was a earlier post re Orange as the reliable source
