Sunday trading?

I've never traded on a Sunday, not for religious reasons - in fact I do most of my praying on weekday afternoons! - and I've generally heard that, like bank holidays, trading on Sundays can be unreliable. Any regular Sunday traders finding that's not the case? the markets have been so nutty of late that I'm thinking Sundays can't be any more of a roller coaster? Or can they....? I'll suck it and see, I suppose, but any advice welcome from Sunday regulars.

Cheers.

I predominately trade on Sports betting, but I do have a dabble on Sunday horse racing

Weekdays tend to have sharper traders, people doing it for a living, but Sundays have a lot more newbies and amateurs

Greedy traders?
I would like to add myself to that category. I am very greedy, the more money I make the more I spend and the better the economy recovers :D

Yes, it is funny how winning trades can make one 'greedy' and confident and hungry for more, and losing trades can make you cautious and jittery - all part of the mind game against yourself. I didn't trade the horses today, but might get into the habit of some Sunday shenanigans.

Plenty of sport to get into today, and it was great to see Etherington scoring the first at Wembley in the Stoke v Bolton match - I had no idea he had blown £1.5m on the gee-gees and poker until he sorted himself out. In the old days he would have got 16-1 odds on himself scoring the first today. But he's better off this way for sure.

Started Sunday trading with a disaster on the first Irish race when in my moment of madness decided to wait until the very end and take SP on back bet if it doesn't get taken befor the off. It didn't and I guess there weren't many SP lay bets so it didn't get matched properly and ended up starting the day with three figure red. Irish races are definately a bit random especially on Sunday.

I tend not to trade on Sunday just because I have a young family and I need at least one day off a week, so Sunday is the natural choice. I dip in for the odd feature but generally don't work on a Sunday. My impression is that the markets are a little thinner generally.

I'm of the opinion that a Monday or a Tuesday would be a better day to take off. But it's just family reasons I plump for most Sundays.

I'm having this Friday off ;)

Good Friday off sounds like a good idea. Especially if this weather keeps up. Windsor looked so enticing that I almost got in the car and nipped up there. But the glow of the PC screens sucked me back in.

One of my daughters is ill so I'm at home this Sunday afternoon. Thought I would nip in and see what the markets are like and they are significantly quieter than a mid-week. Volumes are some way off what you would expect to see. Could be because it is Easter Sunday but thought I would let the forum know.

I hope she feels better soon. I also had a dabble this afternoon, until some relatives visited unannounced...but they might have done me a favour.
