No Star

I am working through the user guide. Page 42 says:

To save your own custom settings, click on the "Star‟ next to the global settings drop down box. This will start the global settings editor.

There is no star next to the drop down box. Can anybody tell me where my missing star is? Or to otherwise save my customised global settings.
