I wonder whether corruption is another outcome of the current trend for small races, given that it's easier to fix a small race than a big one...
I am skeptical of the claims, however. Jockeys know that their every micro-movement is heavily scrutinized, and the merest hint of anything dodgy could land them in deep trouble. And markets can be profoundly irrational, and IMHO if a horse is at 6.0 when it 'should' be at 3.0, it's probably due to crowd psychology rather than anything sinister...
