i was watching the money that people put at 1.01 and it was insane
arsenal vs liverpool , 405.9 k matched @ 1.01
It's not something I would have done, but I can understand it in this instance though.
There was supposed to be something like 8 minutes of extra time. So when it went 1-0 in the eighth minute of extra time, you can forgive people for thinking 'Game over!'.
If I were an Arsenal fan, I'd want that referee sacked. What kind of numpty allows a game to go on for 4 minutes longer than it should?!?

Don't feel that sorry for people getting caught out like this to be honest.
they are just looking for free money and as we all know free money does not exist.
Not sure why anyone would back Arsenal at 1.01 when Liverpool were on the attack or on the guess work of how much time the ref would add on for the penalty and the goal, crazy.
Don't know whether to commend there balls or laugh at their stupidity

Jeff, apparently the ball was only in play for less than a minute during the last 6 minutes so you can fully understand the added time that allowed L'pool to score.
Also, it was a minimum of 8 minutes added time.
Either way I bet the Liverpool fans were totally torn when they got the penalty - wonder how many of them wanted Kuyt to miss it?

Fair comment. IMHO, it wouldn't hurt for AET to be given as a precise figure, not a minimum time, so that no-one can accuse the referee of using his discretion in a way that favours a particular team.SilentDave wrote:Jeff, apparently the ball was only in play for less than a minute during the last 6 minutes so you can fully understand the added time that allowed L'pool to score.

An answer to the question
"If I were an Arsenal fan, I'd want that referee sacked. What kind of numpty allows a game to go on for 4 minutes longer than it should?!?"
The sort of ref that usually officiates at Old Trafford when Utd need a result!
However just proior to the penalty there was free kick just on the edge of the area which needed sorting out.
I would suggest that if more players actually got on with the game, stopped shirt pulling and rolling over un-necessarily etc they may play closer to the 90 mins.
Arsenal despite all their pretty one touch stuff show a week underbelly as exposed by Bolton a few days later. If I were an Arsenal fan I'd be worried a bit about the future as uncertainty does strange things.
