On the contrary - if the mafia have gone to all the trouble and expense of fixing a result, it would be ungracious of me not to profit from their kind gift!

Speaking of strange betting patterns, did anyone just see the 100K back order for Osana in the 18:35 Fairyhouse?

I'm not implying that anything dodgy was going on, but someone apparently knew that Osana would run a good race, given that it ended up being gubbed well below 1.10!

Can you elaborate please, as I really don't understand what you're asking?

Hi Jeff,

I suspect that Q's responses are probably cryptic (the crossword analogy is spot on, at times) in order to try and stimulate querents to think about the problem themselves. I've used the technique myself when coaching maths students (admittedly only GCSE's). When they work it out for themselves it "sticks".

Further, Q does make precise comments. I recall him commenting on how I was "booking", I think it was 4 losing trades out of 6, on odds on favourites. I have to admit that I was concentrating on the losing trades, rather than, as Q pointed out, working out the factors of the winning trades and trying to replicate them.

I generally sit up when Q makes a comment,

cheers, P

No, and the backer didn't chase the price and there were no last minute spikes, so it could have been a spoofer.

Yeah Probably just the flashing spoofer trying to hold the price down then.

If it is, he has balls of steel or an extremely large bank balance. :)

Hi Prediction

I'm sure Quinny knows his stuff, and it's good that he encourages people to think. But I'd rather think about his trading ideas than deciphering his code! :)

I've tried subtle in the past but it often just passes off as annoying.

Another question -

How do you spot and exploit support and resistance on Betfair?

How important is "being at the front of the queue"?
