regarding why there is so much queued up ay 1.01. It is a known fact (well known by me anyway) that if you lay 1.01 in EVERY race you make a profit in the long term. The stats back this up over and over again. However, if you don't get matched EVERY time you lose. Some races only a few thousand is matched (and the horses loses). So the ones at the front have a better chance of winning.

There was a study by the Racing Post a while back which showed a 50% profit from laying every horse at 1.01 during the test period.
