Hi,

Recently I've lost my connection a few times and I'm not sure if it's the router or not. It's a Netgear router - I've had problems with Netgear routers in the past so might try another brand.

Can anyone recommend a fast reliable ADSL wireless router?

I connect to the router via ethernet normally but require wireless for other uses in the flat.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: High performance routers...
Cisco-Linksys E4200?

Netgear N750 looks the alternative:

Edit2: The above 2 are cable modems.

I am from an IT hardware background and I really would recommend Draytek products. I have tried Netgear, 3Com, Linksys, Cisco etc. but I would not be without my trusty Draytek.

They are full of features for both security and performance and best of all they are reliable. In 10+ years of using their products I have never had a failure.(Edit: Apart from a voltage surge which fried my PC and Router which you can't legislate for!)

They are not the cheapest so it will depend on how much you want to spend.

This is a good standard Modem Vigor 2710

This is the one I use Draytek 2820n

I love the 2820n because it has dual WAN with fail over protection. I have cable and ADSL so if one supply fails it switches to the other. You can also plug a 3G USB modem in if you want. You need a UPS for the 3G to be effective because obviously a power failure render the router useless.

I can also create separate WLAN or LAN so my children can use a specified bandwidth without ruining my trading.

If you want to know anything else then please ask.
