So, I am working on some automation based on steamers and was wondering what do people consider the price movement to be for classing it as a streamer? 5 ticks in 20 seconds, 10 ticks in 60 seconds, 15 ticks in 2 min?
Would be interested to hear the views of the collective intelligence.
Thanks
Pablo

I dont think one size fits all, it depends on the selections overall traded range which could be 6 ticks or 20+ ticks. Plus you have the added problem of it breaking out of its normal traded range for the past 6 or so hours.pabloatwork wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 8:29 pmSo, I am working on some automation based on steamers and was wondering what do people consider the price movement to be for classing it as a streamer? 5 ticks in 20 seconds, 10 ticks in 60 seconds, 15 ticks in 2 min?

To use your example: Say a selections traded range is 20 ticks and it suddenly drops 5 ticks in 20 seconds, 10 ticks in 60 seconds and 15 ticks in 120 seconds. Is that a steamer, probably, will it continue steaming, who knows, it could easily reverse back up or breakout into a 30+ tick range.
It all depends on supply and demand.
