Hi all and thanks for having me here 😁.

Was just hoping someone could help me out with a couple of queries and/or point me towards some further learning materials.

Firstly, I’m brand new to Betfair trading, in fact, I’m yet to place my first trade. I’ve been matched betting and dutching for a couple of months so know my way around the exchange (albeit on Smarkets mainly), and I know the basics around backing and laying. I’ve been watching lots of videos on BetAngel academy which have really peaked my interest into the trading game. Anyways I’ve decided that it looks fun and exciting and I really want to give it a go, so any general advice would be massively appreciated.

I have a couple more specific queries below:

1. Bankroll management - is there a generally accepted framework that you guys follow when it comes to managing your bankroll? For example, never stake more than x% of your bankroll on a single market or trade. I understand that this is likely personal preference but I was wondering if there is an agreed “safe” framework for us noobs to follow.

2. Market choice - here’s the issue... I’m 30 with a full time job, 2 kids, a mortgage etc.. time is hardly a resource I’m abundant in. I’d only really be able to sit down in front of the PC in the evenings and night time. Whilst I know that lots of things can be automated in trading I really feel I should get a grip on doing it manually first. Are there any markets I could be trading between 20:00-00:00 UK time? I know I may be able to jump on some late Football games and maybe some foreign sports?

One last thing - I’m considering buying the £39.99 course on BetAngel academy, can anyone recommend?

Thanks for your time 👍🏻

Matched betting (free money on slow- mo trade), so you are used to arbitrage. You finally found the courage to open the door! Congratulations and welcome! It’s been there all along .

Someone asked this the other day and the advice from Peter (the person selling this) said not to buy it right now because it is about to be revamped (IIRCC)

Haha. Yep I found matched betting extremely dull and tedious. This on the other hand looks rather lively 😁.

In response to your points:

1.I don’t mind loosing while learning (within reason of course) which is why I was asking about a ‘safe’ BR management framework for beginners. I’ll be starting with £2.5k and intend to stick to the lowest stakes while I find my feet.

2. Are you suggesting I should be looking to purchase a strategy off someone? If so it’s not something I’ll be doing early doors. I want to have a dabble myself first 😃. Hoping doing so will speed up my learning.

3. Agree 100%. Initially atleast I’ll be treating this more like a ‘hobby’ than a potential income stream. I use the word ‘hobby’ cautiously as it sort of implies that I won’t be taking it seriously, which is not the case.

4. Thanks 😊 I’ll check out the videos and do some reading on Order flow.

So you’re fairly new yourself? How are you finding it?

A.k.a - Adrenaline junkie (AJ) , the markets is where i live , thanks for asking.

>1. its a zero sum game . swings and round abouts, goes around and comes around, back to the the same spot.
- keep your ears close to the ground and your 2.5k should be safe ( minus betfair commision)...so watch the videos. TIP .gazuty is a senior.

>2 . i will only suggest that if i want to be famous :)

>3. - right mindset : check
- right place : check
now go on and do your home work , and if you think you know , think about the thinking (metacognition)..thats you first edge right there !

TIP :2 want to see a celebrity watch the next episode down below :o
