Champions league
Hmm, not sure Ferguson is making the right decision to rest players ahead of tonight's Champions league semi final. OK a two goal lead should be plenty but a goal for Schalke could really put the cat amongst the pigeons. I guess he will bench key players and bring them on if it merits it?
I had a quick look on the DB and hunted for Man Utd matches at home priced between 1.50-1.60. It threw up five recent matches. United won 4/5 but on three occasions the away team scored first. The most poignant one was last December when Man Utd placed Valencia at Old Trafford and drew 1-1, Valencia scored first them as well.
United are on the drift at the moment.

It's a tricky one, but I think he's got it right, given that he'll want his key players fit for Sunday's game against Chelsea.
And Berbatov, who's going to be in the starting line up, will be all out to make a point. Plus, Fergie's going to play his experienced defenders, so Schalke will have to pull something special out of the bag to score 2 goals at Old Trafford.

I see Fergie's mind games are starting already, with the revelation that he's taking advice from Jose Morinho!

I feel the final is slipping away from Man Utd with all this fuss over Ryan Giggs. A big distraction.

On the contrary, Fergie loves to create a siege mentality, so this story has played right into his hands!

Ex-Barcelona striker Gary Lineker believes Manchester United's only hope of winning the Champions League final is if their opponents underperform.

I don't see how he can say that.
When you have two teams playing each other who play each other in the same league, you have a basis for making comparisons based on statistics.
But when you have two teams who have both won very strong leagues, and both have world class players, I don't see how you can call one of the teams a clear favourite.
The last time United played Barcelona in the CL final, IMHO we lost because we did an England and played without any passion. That said, Fergie's inexplicable decision to put Park Ji-Sung in the starting 11 but keep Tevez on the bench probably didn't help!

I think Lineker is talking from the heart
I used to work with someone who lived in Barcelona for 5 years, Lineker is still a Barca legend there. He scored lots of goals for them, became fluent in Spanish (which the natives love) and famously scored a hat-trick against Real Madrid in the Nou Camp to win 3-2
He clearly wants United to lose, nothing wrong with that
