I don't like the look of the afternoon session that much TBH.

Will work on new stuff this afternoon.
Still trying to get my head around this trading lark so wondering if you would be so kind to go into a little more detail? Did the afternoon races look challenging today or just not worthwhile?

I had a complete nightmare, every time I entered a market it seemed to go the other way. Bangor in particular was very random.

Trading is very challenging, you will likely spend many hours searching for an edge and possibly come up with nothing. The market chucks up quite a lot of repeating patterns but personally I’ve have found the out comes to be pretty random. It seems a good thing to pursue when you see all these results and people paying premium charge. I mean how hard can it be? Believe me it’s tough even just to make a few quid.

Today is another good example, one meeting 30 minutes between races. Ages for the liquidity to dribble into the market with little momentum and short term liquidity will suffer. So days where there are large gaps mean it's harder to get in and out of the market.

Yesterday we had low quality, small fields. Low quality brings lower liquidity and you need good liquidity to trade well. The small fields would make the markets more volatile and harder to read. So low liquidity and markets that are harder to read it's a poor combination.

Better to wait for something I can get stuck into.

About 50% of my week is done on a Saturday so I'm not that fussed about mid-week conditions.

Looks a bit more exciting today. You reckon they fancy birchdale? Few wheel barrows gone in there 😆

It's OK today, but on slightly less favourable courses. So volumes are low but it's run of the mill stuff. Nothing exciting.

I picked off a really good trade at Brighton earlier, but other than that, it's just bits here and there.

Every trade is a different game. Thomas & Pep have a special mindset & it's (imo) what we do or try to do.

Sorry, I could of posted in the football thread but I believe this gives a good definition to manual traders.

As far as I know the Pep of sports trading is Peter, who/where is the Thomas?

Surely there isn't a void so big?

What happened at Chester? I made a pigs ear of it pre race but I've just been refunded my loss.
