lost enthausiasm
Very true if you want to see how the markets move watch the earlier stages of a long inplay race. Same tricks being used as pre race but because everything moves so much faster you can see it happening so much easier, loads of swing trades. Just remember every race has an end and losses can be considerable
Fair enough.
Why not make your trading a form of meditation in itself then, ie focus 100% only on what you're doing, rather than having thoughts like 'D'oh! I missed that opportunity', or 'This is boring!', or 'That was a good trade'?
You could also try hypnosis to change your mental associations, linking something really exiting and sexy with trading, so that trading feels like making love to a beautiful woman!

i still do especially if i start flagging half way through a session. but a deep long term malaise so to speak, requires in my case something more than 2 to 3 minute meditation tricks, to put me back in the correct frame of mind longer term.
Ah, the joys of office politics!

Hello jeff,
Personally I think meditation is limited during trading. Some of those 2/3 min techniques are very good at bringing yourself back down to a calmer more logical/sensible state of mind if things start making you lose your balance so to speak. And that is exactly what I need nothing more really (my opinion).
As for making trading part of meditation in itself, well I would not know where to start, and its sounds far to zenish to me. I would have thought I would have to spend a lot of time mastering meditation, to a point where I don’t believe it will benefit me any significant way either in trading or elsewhere. I like being the way I am most of the time.
As for hypnosis would not know where to start and to be honest not that inclined much. As for women I rather shag em them make love.

Hi Tony, I can't relate to this loss of enthusiasm, although sometimes I can get a bit lazy.
I don't think I have a secret, but as stated before, it's all about balance. I try to only work two weekends a month now and I always travel one weekend (at least) per month. I go to the gym 3 times a week and to the theater or cinema (or something equivalent) once a week. I try not to rush to trade and spend time with family and friends. Last week I stayed almost the whole week in Lisbon but I'm already looking forward my June (Alentejo) and July (Cape Verde) trips
Last week I read a book about the

It didn't teach me much, but it reminded me where a lot of people fail to manage their lives.
Take your time, mate
