Just like my tin opener rant, it's crazy to have two laptops sitting on a desk side-by-side, together with a router and have to connect them wirelessly. My UEFI still allows PXE booting off another computer but it's not much use without a wired network connection.
I was going to reinstall Windows anyway but when you first boot a new computer or after installation Microsoft demand that you log in or sign up to a Microsoft account. The only way around it is to make sure you're not connected to the internet at the time. When I went through the process it bitlocked my system partition without asking and stored the key in my new Microsoft account.
The best ever operating system was Windows 98. Microsoft didn't treat their users with such contempt when Bill Gates was in charge!

Derek27: FFS my microchip bitlocked my digital currency access at the pub when it detected I had too much alcohol in my system last night, couldn't buy a kebab and had to walk home without a taxi only for the power to go off for the microchip entry system to my house so I couldn't get in until 5am! It's fined me £50 for being too drunk and took 30 points off my social credit score so now I will need to volunteer for 30 hours to get them back! The conspiracy theorists on BA Forum back in 2020 were right
Keep dreaming Alex, that one day you'll be proved right.alexmr2 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 6:30 pmRant corner 2030Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:53 pmMicrosoft demand that you log in or sign up to a Microsoft account. I am reminded of a suggestion I once read ... Directors should test their product's packaging with their aged mothers before exposing an unsuspecting public to them.
I was just looking those Indian batch numbers up as I'd just had my 2nd shot this morning, looks like my first was a UK/EU made one
Ironically my batch number begins with the letters 'PW'

Hope they get something sorted out with it though, its not as if they can just re-jab all those who've been given the Indian version
Why can't we have a universal keyboard where all the keys are in the same place?
Never mind the Ctrl, alt, del keys. My new laptop has a power button on the flipping keyboard - it's just above the backspace and next to delete. How stupid is that?
