Yeah slow day for me all round, not the best start to the week, hopefully the last 3 days bring some good fodder!

I haven't enjoyed York at all this week. Managed to get some decent trades away at Newmarket and Ludlow though, so the day is looking much better.

I am exactly the same re york. I have also found Perth to be really bad. In fact I even avoided 2 of the later races today and that is very rare for me.

Well I have had my best day ever.

The races with big fields at York were good and in the evening the Newmarket and GP back to back have worked really well.

I think it is a combo of Thomo over exagerating the chances of closers at Newmarket and GP horses running into the sun.

Any way pre easter was awful, so I will enjoy the current good run.

Hi Rhys,

hope you don't mind me making an observation but to help with the battle mist, when sailing close to the wind why not buy a punch bag for the trading room and a pair of gloves.

When hittin a losing 'mare knock seven bells out it, then head under the cold shower and get back at them thar markets. Be better than stabbing the desk!

cheers hope the winnin ways return

Hi Rhys

'Working on it'. That reminds me of myself when I've been on diets and cheated big time, and gotten nowhere quickly! The problem with that kind of thinking is it's too wishy washy. IMHO, it allows you to convince yourself that you're taking action, when in fact you're largely doing what you want to do, rather than what you need to do.

I'd say the solution is simple, but not easy. Turn the 'shoulds' into 'musts' - these videos explain what I mean:

If you make it so that something like going in play is as abhorrent and as unacceptable to you as committing a crime you despise, you won't have to worry about rectifying any underlying issues. The problem will simply disappear. And IMHO, once you're back to being disciplined, you'll accept losses easily, as you know that they're unavoidable. In my experience, stupid decisions come when you take a loss and think 'Here we go again! I wonder how much money I'm going to lose today!'.

York has been a bit miserable this week hasn't it? I think they are doing their best to screw it up today with these late starts!

Yeh I've got nothing from York the last few days, rubbish.

Jeff, Cheers, I'll have a look at those vids when I've finished trading, I don't actually have the problem of going in play anymore, thankfully! But I still do some silly things like use big stakes and get involved with markets I'm not to comfortable with.

Noeyedeer, thanks for the suggestion. My anger issue has chilled out a bit since I stopped doing weights about a month ago, I hate not doing them though so I'm going to try doing them on a night.
