Taking available profit

When Backing on a H/race I am closing backing bet by taking profit showing in trade profit column, but instead of a profit the action shows that I have closed the bet, the bet is cancelled in betfair account page it shows £2.00 profit £2.00 loss anybody got a clue what is going on, if I let the race finish if it wins I get credited and lose if it does not, so if I take action during event I just cancel the bet. Am I allowed to take this action on a £2.00 bet whilst learning the ropes. Thanks for any info.

Hi Yes I am is that not allowed, is it only automatic settings allowed, thank you for your reply

It's just that there is an in-play delay so between you clicking to exit your postion and the order reaching the market the odds may have moved quite a bit and you wont get matched on your closing trade. That would explain what you are seeing.

Thanks for that and I see understand what you are saying, but it does show the amount I took ie,the profit is that then not confirmation.
