Hello All Bet Angels
For GB and Irish horse racing but will work in Oz and NZ
I'm looking to get a bot which does the following:
Looks for a field of 10 runners or more
1 minute before start of race, look for one selection which has the following characteristics:
Is a single, clear 3rd favourite
Has a back /lay price between 5.5 = < SP > =7.5
Is priced at <=1.5
If all correct it will lay that selection for fixed £2
I've played about with Guardian and it still isn't making a selection when I want.
Surely, someone has written a bot to duplicate Laypro 88(? )
Any pointers and or downloadable files would be much appreciated
Thank you
Gatwick 21
Lay 3rd favourite if with SP conditions (laypro 88)

try this in test mode,
not exactly sure what you mean by <=1.5.
but see if this does the job.
I have put in 2 lay bets.
the first tries to put a lay bet at reverse market price until 15 seconds out.
then it places a bet at best market price from 12 seconds out if matched bets still = 0.
have also added condition that 3rd fav is 5 ticks above 2nd fav price and 5 ticks below 4th fav price

Yes, I see that I've not been clear. What I should have said was
the back odds for the third favourite must be 1.5 more than the back odds for the favourite.
ie there are four conditions:
runners => 10
Third favourite back price > 5.5
Third favourite back price < 7.5
Third favourite back price = Favourite +1.5
A few different sources from within the last couple of years report that laypro 88 is a profitable strategy. I've seen Laypro 88 bot downloads advertised but don't trust the source tbh. The official laypro88 website does not appear to have been active since 2019 so doubt that would be a good place to get a down load either. The betfair community has a posting about this although there is no code for it.
Has anyone else come accross this strategy/ modelled it in Bet Angel?
Cheers

If its being touted online its almost certainly won't be profitable long term or there's be millions of pounds of bets getting ploughed onto it and nowhere near enough to match it all, but if you want to give it a go its very easy to set up and this maybe what Memphis's file already doesGatwick21 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 2:57 pmYes, I see that I've not been clear. This thread shows how to create your price range

You then just need a relative odds condition to test
the selections back price
is greater than
back price
of nominated selection by order of favouritism 1
plus 1.5 odds

are you saying for instance if the fav is odds of 4,
then 1.5 *4 would be odds of 6 for the 3rd fav?
then 1.5 *4 would be odds of 6 for the 3rd fav?

I just can't see where the value is in this long term? Based on those criteria and chuck in a bit of form I'd all over dutching that that race, probably including the 3rd favourite in the mix

updated file in accordance with what Dallas said

Are you value betting or trading ?
Trading :
You are looking for a donkey placed as a false favourite .
As Dallas says
Betting:
You are literally flogging a dead horse. Unless you have other criteria to qualify your bet.

it basically needs check for a lay once before the off if no lay move onto next race thats the idea behind the lay

pretty impressive

BUT
laying any horse would normally give you good strike rate but not necessarily profitable . eg. lay any horse @5.0 offset by 5 ticks will give you 95% strike rate and still not profitable.
watch this , i have marked it to start @ min. 12.35 where the penny drops

staking plans will only work if you dont ask for prices, but take best available prices , that way you are not restricted to fill rates and liquidity.
- if the occurrance of an event is rare within one market then why not go for plenty of markets and capture a bigger sample ( dont forget to only compare likes for likes , oranges for oranges)
