Genuinely spent 20mins pissing around with my colour balance on my TV, angrily swearing at Sony and how shit my TV was before realising it was the SKY cameras. Honestly that grass looked like something from Fifa 95greenmark wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 4:56 pmWhat is going with the Sky Cov v Forest coverage.
Appalling quality on certain cameras.
Is it colour mixing or contrast?
Everyone looks like an extra out of 70's nuclear attack film, glowing and fuzzy.
Great to know my £95 is well spent. (Oops, this shousld have been on the Rant Corner thread). Sorry!![]()

This optimises Grealish for me.
"I think I'm different to every player in this squad," he says. "People like Raheem Sterling are wingers who like to run in behind. Phil Foden has a bit of everything. That's what the manager has brought me here for, I can play in a number of positions as an eight or a ten or a false nine. There's so much attacking talent that can do everything, they change positions constantly which is difficult for defenders and even for the few days I've been here. It's crazy to see how Guardiola works, some of the tactics he has are out of this world.
"I feel I can bring a lot to the team."
Bold claims, thus far he has been someone that falls over a lot and struggles to handle his off-pitch life.
Forget the Charity Shield, that can be (and was) a joke.
His first proper game will begin to define whether 100million is justified.
He doesn't convince me at all.
He's flippant: in his play; his interviews and his behaviour off the pitch. Dean Smith has tried to give the guy some gravitas by involving him charity, but Grealish manifests as a spoilt child.
The only caveat for me is Pep. Pep seems to me to be smart, obsessive and ruthless. Quite why he's gone for Grealish is a mystery. But he has improved Sterling. With Grealish, I'm not so sure. i think being a Man C player will unhinge him. Grealish could be Pep's greatest challenge.
Hope it doesn't turn out like Balotelli, Anelka, Pogba, Stones, Phil Jones. The next big things, that flopped. Even if they personally profited.

Messi officially a PSG player!
Great news if you're a Messi fan, not so great if you're a Ronaldo fan

The only real issue is that he draws the fouls. All it needs is a european version of Martin Keown and some badly timed reducer, he'll be on and off the treatment table like Darren Anderton.
The issue for me is drawing of fouls. There are swifter players in the EPL (eg Sterling, Adama Traore) that stay on their feet in an effort to get beyond their opponent.wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 4:12 pmI hope it works out for him.greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 6:49 pmThis optimises Grealish for me.

Grealish manufactures collisions and is the most adept at this skill I've ever seen. But I'm convinced he does it because he has no genuine pace.
I also hope it works out for him. And the caveat against my negative assesment is one of the best managers ever thinks Grealish has something special. But I can't see it.
He's not a David Silva, he's not a flying winger. he's not a striker. So what is he? Replacement for Sterling, not as quick, but more aware of those around him and able to find them with a pass?
Time will tell.

I think signing Grealish is a sign of desperation by Guardiola. He's good player but imo he's not worth £100m, maybe its because of the homegrown player quota. If Grealish was still Irish (
) or was from any other country he'd be worth maybe £60m.
I'm more interested in the Man City - Messi situation. Surely they would have delayed signing Grealish if they knew Messi was potentially available. Messi said in his presser on Sunday that there was contact with more than one club so maybe they were in for him .

Could work out to be a good £100 million pound sub for a while. Maybe Pep watched the Euros and thought, hey that guy looks good on the bench (as the camera get zooming in on him when we needed something different in attack).Trader Pat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 5:42 pmI think signing Grealish is a sign of desperation by Guardiola. I think the wage bill of £450k a week for Messi might of made him wince a little. (for a 34 year old)

Yeah maybe, I'm sure we'll find out as the season rolls on.
PSG now favourites for the Champions League but both Barca and Real Madrid are priced at 23's! Must be the biggest they've ever been to win it!

If Mbappe doesn't depart to Real, what an attacking force!
Neymar, Messi, Mbappe, Di Maria.
No pressure for Ligue 1 and Champions League Poch!!
Actually just had a squint at the 2nd string if the above get injured.
Doesn't look like much to me.
I've seen folks onlne referring to PSG buying success while ignoring any long term strategy. This would appear to back that up.
But it could be fun while it all unfolds.
