Sorry. Amphibians.
Funniest part of that for me was Sampaoli losing the plot and Payet of all people trying to calm him down!

What's the alternative though?
If you game it out and Arteta stays for the season, where do Arsenal finish? Mid table I'd say like last season, maybe a chance of pushing for a minor European place. But if he's sacked who do you replace him with? And whoever replaces him Arsenal aren't finishing in the Top 4 so I think he has a fair bit of time to play with.
Ultimately the blame should rest at the feet of Kroenke. Another example of an owner who doesn't care about the club or the fans but about a bottom line. FSG care about the bottom line too but at least they've hired the right people in the background to provide success on the pitch. I don't know for sure but Kroenke seems more Glazer than FSG but the people who run the club day to day seem to be clueless.

This is not the West Ham I've kown for so long.
It must be Moyes. I confess i'm biased on this. Even as an LFC fan, I've always admired Moyes. He got a poisoned chalice at Man U. And his Spanish venture was courageous, but probably doomed from the outset. This West Ham team look more like his Everton heyday. Rice not signing a new contract and Antonio excelling could be a problem each transfer window from now.
Also I reckon Leicester have a problem with Söyüncü. He's not convincing. And tonight he was dreadful.
Moyes look 10 years younger in his post-match interview. Well done sir!

There are some things in the way Moyes sets up his team that Bielsa from Leeds could incorporate and still keep the high energy elements to their game. You could see why Man Utd wanted him back in the day, but he couldn't shake of the "Ferguson Factor."greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:24 pmThis is not the West Ham I've kown for so long.

West Hams' backroom characters could be an issue for him as half want to sell (or someone to come in and make an offer). So the transfer market is always gonna thorw up obstacles in some way.
Soyuncu was on one for sure, only marginally better than Perez, who was sent off for after 40 minutes!

Moyes is doing a good job but I think the Leicester fairy tale could be coming to an end.
I've always liked Rodgers as a coach but winning the FA cup last season saved him and the team from a lot of criticism for bottling the Top 4 again. I'm sure the Leicester fans would have preffered the cup over a top 4 finish and rightly so but I don't think they'll be challenging for the Top 4 this season.
