Hi Everyone.
i am trying to automate "Back fav just before start, and lay fav in play then drifting"
i can automate back the fav not a problem, so it backs it 10 sec before inplay, however, no matter what i do, i cant get lay the fav inplay then its drifted to odds 8 (just have that as a set odds) i have in general set it to place a lay bet , under the parameters i have fixed price odds 8 fixed amount 12,
so what i want is to back the fav with 10 euros, and then/if it drifts out lay it with 12 euros.
Hope that someone out there can help me.
please and thanks
michael

Haven't checked your rules file but sounds like you'll need to add a 'Fix market selection order' rule and have that trigger just before your back bet rule, that will ensure your lay rule still triggers on the same runner even if it's not the fav in the actual pricing order when it goes above 8.0.
Except for really large competitive fields the fav will never be above 8.0, and the chances of you backing a fav pre-off then that same runner drifting above 8.0 and remaining the fav are very very slim

hi Dallas
thanks for the quick reply, going to see if i can figure that out
so as i said. the basic of my idea is, back a fav at lets say odds 3 at 10 euros, and IF it drifts out to odds 8, then lay it by 12 euro.
might not make much sense lol, but its part of a plan
thanks again Dallas
regards

wie ghet es ihnen,
How do you choose your favourites?
-volume
-price
-recommendation
-betfair
-self calculated odds......
choosing to place your bets by Position (sorted in order of favouritism)
allows you to apply your rule to a selection based on its order of favouritism at the time the rule triggers, by default the order of favouritism is determined by the selection with the lowest best back price (this can be changed to lowest lay or last traded price on the automation tab in the main settings tool if you wish).
in this case as Dallas explained your back bets will be placed , but your lay bet will not pass the test. # by the time a selection hits odds of 8 , its no longer the favourite .
try and fix your selection to a named nomination or betfair order as this will allow your back bet to trigger on the same runner,
