If it's one number then it's junk. It will be everything above a number, or everything below a number, or everything around a number. That's logic not trading. If its significant then small changes to a threshold or trigger value with produce small predictable changes in the output.

I'm thinking low volume value betting maybe more seasonal affected, so something I see backtests well over summer can easily turn negative in autumn... You're going to ask me why, answer: It just feels as though it might be..!
I'm going to go back to trying more quant based, so LOTS of bets!

VWAP in stock market trading covers 3 prices, High/Low/Close. Time ranges are the "x factor."
Is that similar to the way you use it?

Yes, i've also used various "time periods", which effectively show vwap at more longer term levels, sort of more smoothedwearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 7:03 amVWAP in stock market trading covers 3 prices, High/Low/Close. Time ranges are the "x factor."

vwap everyone knows about...
One of the quant guys told me you've got to find something not everyone knows about or does, and he said that is very difficult... plain vwap won't be that...
I've turned my dog and ukhorse bot back on, they've all I can think of that are unique at the moment....

That's not really how it is calculated. That's just an approximation.wearthefoxhat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 7:03 amVWAP in stock market trading covers 3 prices, High/Low/Close. Time ranges are the "x factor."

For BF we have the exact numbers so we can look at the actual volume at each price point.

FYI all automated trading is quant trading and there's no such thing as plain vwap.goat68 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:12 amvwap everyone knows about...

So if you've turned them back on have you done all the suggested analysis on the results so far, made the necessary adjustments and retested everything? Running a loser just because it's all you've got seems like you just like gambling more than winning.
If you were to ask for my advice now I'd say you should take that £268 out of your account before we do.
you make a good point "...before we do", basically we're in a big bun fight together at Betfair and the cleverest take the money from the most stupid!!ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 10:11 amFYI all automated trading is quant trading and there's no such thing as plain vwap.goat68 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:12 amvwap everyone knows about...

So it's a fight against other traders to take their money... so I need to take their money when they're in the wrong side?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 10:11 amFYI all automated trading is quant trading and there's no such thing as plain vwap.goat68 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:12 amvwap everyone knows about...

So for example, WoM, assuming i'm going to hedge at the off, what can WoM really tell me about value? The fact that £5000 more is sitting wanting to be backed just above the current price, doesn't indicate which way the price is going to go, in fact probably means on average it will go the other way, ie.drift..?
That's what I don't get, I can't see how any of these technicals can help? I can understand how fundamentals may do...?
