A good starting point would be to watch some of the videos on the Bet Angel YouTube channel. Lots of free advice there.

Did you see that I replied to you?
If you are new, then yes, read the forum, watch the YT videos, look at the academy etc.

Go back and watch again and again. Then after that watch again. Maybe a few more times. Then a few more.

Read that religiously.
Then you might have a chance!
How long have you been trading for? It's not until you have more experience in the markets that you realise the significance of the advice in the videos. At least that's how it was for me.adryan87 wrote: โSun Oct 24, 2021 3:14 pmI watched, nothing concreteTrader Pat wrote: โSun Oct 24, 2021 3:07 pmA good starting point would be to watch some of the videos on the Bet Angel YouTube channel. If yo're blindly following trends don't be surprised if the market baits you in (by design) and then leaves your position in the dust.
That like the first psychological hurdle with preoff, don't get suckered in thinking trends are always your friends

So,what is your suggestion?
I think the problem is not "if blindly following trends" ,but when to enter to be on that trend? This is the real problem, which no one says this things. All i read is general things, around the main point..

So what do you want? Somebody to take your hand and walk you through each trade?
The reason you get general answers is because you're asking a general question. It depends on a lot of factors from race type to number of runners to lots of factors in between. A lot of these questions are answered in the videos on the YouTube channel where specific reasons are given for why specific actions are taken but you said you didn't get anything from the videos so it seems to me you're not interested in doing the leg work that we've all had to do. That leg work can take hundreds if not thousands of hours so the first question you need to ask yourself is are you willing to commit that kind of time. If you're not then trading isn't for you.
I watched and traded a handful of markets this afternoon, made money on all of them, so I definitely think the 100s/1000s of hours i've spent on this i've picked something up! However, I did it to see what I am picking up on, in terms to automate... but i'm reading the ladders, the previous race, and anticipating with the "toaster pop", each market is different and my mind views it with some idea of anticipation. Tricky to automate!
my biggest problem is my environment, today would have been a good day, just recorded stuff with watching at the same time, nothing to distract me & my reads weโre accurate, this in itself Iโve identified the problem, the problem is now how to get around it.
We live down the bottom of a cul-de-sac & any outside noise totally affects me, (kids playing outside / deaf head next door playing Barry Manilow on loop et al) so Iโm gonna have to invest in some high quality NR headphones, havenโt been to the GP but I suspect I may suffer from misophonia or/and phonophobia which if so doesnโt help

you need to be an old git like me with Tinnitus, my brain filters out all noise including the wife shouting "make me a cup of tea"Korattt wrote: โSun Oct 24, 2021 7:48 pmmy biggest problem is my environment, today would have been a good day, just recorded stuff with watching at the same time, nothing to distract me & my reads weโre accurate, this in itself Iโve identified the problem, the problem is now how to get around it.
