I thought the idea was just to draw attention to the cause rather than having to comply with some sort of formality. So long as people pay their quid and show support/respect then what's the problem? If the easily offended start grumbling about regulation issue poppies then people won't bother with them.

The point is Shaun, the very reason for wearing a poppy at this time of year is to remember those who gave their todays for all of our tomorrows - it's should not be considered a 'look at me' fashion extra attention seeking opportunity...but some people can't help themselves, which says all you need to know about them.

I'm afraid the RBL disagree with you on this one....https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/collection ... s-brooches

But I'd agree that some are more tasteful than others....errrrr.

Purchased some colour-changing lights for the garden from eBay. Switched them on - all green. Sat like an idiot for a minute expecting them to change colour - still green. Contacted the seller for a refund and he wants a flipping photograph to check that they're green!!

Purchased a book online last week:

Boogie Man: The Adventures of John Lee Hooker in the American Twentieth Century

A week later I receive: Bedtime Storytime (a children's book).

I phoned my local health centre the other day for a flu jab appt and was given the time of 8.38am Sat morning. Today Friday, I get a confirmation text message that tells me my appt. is 8.50am on Sat. Ok, not a great difference but to be as precise as "8.38" and then still get it wrong on the confirmation text?

Maybe I'll go twice and get two.

Why can't anyone get anything right these days?

Two possible reasons spring to mind:
Either successive generations are being born with diminishing numbers of brain cells, or our parenting and education is failing to encourage any use of brain cells?

I turned up 25 minutes early for my flu jab and they were only too wiling to push me through. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.
