Both drivers matched 1.01 for the championship. Hamilton 1.03 for the race.

Wouldn't like to be anyone around Lewis right now that isn't really, really personally close to him. He'll be furious.
Congratulations to Max and Red Bull. He drove the wheels of that and the team did everything possible to give him a chance. Was that luck? I don't think so, it was a calculated set of risk/reward decisions and it worked.

Tough way for Hamilton to lose the championship but people banging on about bad luck, conspiracy etc... should remember how Lewis won his first title.

And Mercedes won't be chuffed that he effectively cost Lewis the Championship.
He'll be as popular as a fart in a spacesuit next year in a Mercedes powered/gearboxed/hydraulics Williams.
But nontheless. there are so many twists and turns in F1 (lol) anything can happen.
The real issue was Max is fast, perhaps even the fastest. Probably not the best overall package of driver/car. But they got it. A terrific season.
