Good morning you all. (I have contacted support in addition to this post but thought it might be of interest to others here)

I am considering purchasing a Betangel licence again to run automated betting.
I would like to run it on a dedicated laptop that I leave at home whilst I am at work.
My question is ... what settings will I need to apply to the laptop in order that it doesn't close the BA app whilst I am out?
Power saving mode?
Screen saver?
I would also like to access it remotely during the day.

Appreciate any help with this and I'll post a small guide on your forum (assuming it has not already been done) when I solve it as I am sure there are others in this situation.

You and your families have a great Xmas

Not too difficult to set up - just take your time over each step and double check everything.

RDP is the magic for Windows https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... low-access.

Power reduction and screen saver are ok but you must turn off hibernate.

Once set up you can access the home PC using RDP on another Windows device and Microsoft also supply RDP for Apple IoS and I've used it on phone and iPad without problems (except for scrolling the desktop on a tiny phone lol)

The big issue is security since the setup means anyone can drill through to your laptop and ask to connect. Hackers run bots to look for holes 24/7 - mainly looking for easy pickings with passwords such as "admin" etc.

I used a static IP and you need to route incoming packets at the router to your local network laptop IP (for security so can only reach the laptop). The issue is knowing what the address of "home" is on the www if you have an ISP allocated dynamic IP which changes from time to time. You may be able to do it with dynamic DNS but never tried that path.

Apart from forwarding packets to your laptop, some routers also allow you to limit the incoming IP ranges as well - handy if you know you will only connect from specific networks.

Lots of detailed info out there to help
