Hi guys I've figured out how to do some basic automation from watching BA youtube videos. It seems to be working fine but it seems like it only triggers when I have the market loaded up either one click or ladder. If watch on betfair interface on different computer I think to myself I should see this one trigger but it doesn't.

I can see all the markets in guardian but seems unless I have the one click or ladder screen open it doesn't fire. It is a greyhound automation but I trade horses manually, I was hoping it would do all the selected greyhound markets in background but doesn't seem to do it, any suggestions?

You just need to increase the refresh rate in Guardian
Also if Guardian is only being used for your rules on Greyhound markets you can use 'restricted refresh'

This sticky post in the automation section explains both in more detail and how Guardian itself works

Thank you, I sort of understand it, I've just gone into advanced settings and ticked 'restricted refresh'. I've changed refresh interval to 500 milliseconds to see what difference that makes.

What would you put from market switch time, I've got it at 180 at the moment for UK greyhound markets, I notice in picture in sticky post it is set to 5, would you recommend I switch to 5?

Thanks for the help in getting me started on BA by that way, much appreciated!

*EDIT: I just heard a beep and it fired a bet in so I guess it has worked what you suggested.

Refresh rate needs to be as fast as possible. At 500ms it's going to plod through the market list. Try 20ms. Restrict the refresh to as long before and after the scheduled start time you want to look at. Maybe 300s before and 60s after to start with.

If you don't restrict the refresh, Guardian will always look at every market in the list (except those that are closed) and at 500ms with 100 markets loaded that's going to be 50s between each time a market is refreshed and the rules run which is clearly unusable. Even at 20ms its going to be every 2s which is bad enough. Reread Dallas's link because it's all in there.

Market switch time needs to be before the earliest you might want to bet. If you have a rule that might bet 200s before the race then if you switch at 5s you'll have missed it. If you only bet at sp then 5s prior would be plenty. There's no specific setup it depends what you're trying to do. Tbh if you want to be fully automated you don't need to switch to displaying it.

OK thanks, yes sort of understand it but I think will pick it up more over time, will keep tweaking to see if I can find something that works! :D
