Sorry to hear that, what was your position to cause such a disaster?
I only suffer by a loss of green when this happens (never seems to be on a red horse). So is more of an annoyance for me.

I personally think this was fair tonight and is how the ruling is supposed to be being applied.
The one that was pulled didn't have a jockey on when the gates opened the other one did have its jockey on but it then reared so had a fair chance of starting but just played up.

I guess it was fair and they don't consider layers, I just get frustrated that its hard enough to make money without this additional uncertainty. When the race started I used to know that I had made something, now I never really know until the market is completely settled.

Still don't understand how it causes such problems though? Were you bookmaking and left with a badly uneven book? You said you were left holding an inrunning position, so had you backed or laid something to exit inrunning? I can see where it causes issues with that.
If it was straight prerace trading your backs and lays on the horse would have both been cancelled to give a net zero position on the horse so obviously wasn't that? You obviously can be left slightly incorrectly greened on others but I have never known to be 'disastrously' unevenly greened because of a late WD.
They are supposed to be working on the rule and educating the stewards, Leicester apologised the other week the next day after making a cock up saying one was WD when it shouldn't have been.

I needed stuff to get matched in running, nothing to do with pre-race trading which was completed at a profit. 'Disaster' was an overstatement, it was just bloody annoying as it killed that strategies profits for the day with a horribly uneven position. I had to sit and wait to see how it settled.
Cheered myself up with £122 on the last race!

Ah okay with you now, sounds like you had a bot running inrunning. Guess the late withdrawals screw those over when the horse is left in the market. Always wondered how peoples bots cope with late withdrawals that aren't removed from the market, is there anything that can be done other than turning the bot off for the race?

Quinny's comments certainly got me thinking...
