Last year there was a post about declining liquidity year-on-year... it feels like the forum is getting quieter recently and I've saw a couple of other people mention the same.
What are your thoughts?
Ye, for sure feels like it, compared to previous years at least, not counting the automation support sections. It's a shame though, a lot of good traders out there that never really ended up joining any forums, I assume in part because of different software rivalries and such. Because as you've seen, some of the most active contributors over the years weren't even BA users, with some migrating here from other inactive forums.
But besides that, you can't really blame people if they prefer fast slick social media platforms over clunky traditional forum boards which are probably slowly declining every year and becoming more dare I say "archaic". From what I've seen, companies today mostly use traditional forum boards for product support purposes.
Regarding communities, as you already know newer generations especially prefer platforms like Discord because of their many features and versatility (I for sure do for 95% of my trading stuff and in general), or Reddit because of the popular upvote system which is honestly a great way to filter out quality content and consume it on the fly without any real effort, etc.
