The TV channel Tellytrack, which was on channel 249 of the local DSTV cable package stopped transmitting yesterday.

The pictures from the major centres (Cape Town/Johannesburg/Port Elizabeth/Vaal) are now carried on a v similar platform - Racing240 on channel 240 of DSTV.

Racing from Durban is not available on any S.African cable service - it is being streamed from GallopTV.com - though it's considerably behind live.

Be interesting to see what pictures (if any), Betfair has today.

Imagine market liquidity will drop even further.

Wow, that's a sad state of affairs. And I thought we had it bad in Australia!

Mind you our Southern Hemisphere cousins are still getting a hell of an advantage on the TAB pools that are co-mingled so that evens things out a bit 😆

How come TellyTrack aren't broadcasting anymore? Loss of broadcast rights or just not economical anymore?

Basically it's a monumental fuck-up.

Mary Slack (Oppenheimer diamonds) gave the racing board a ton of money they all (allegedly) mismanaged, and the racing boards are
being dissolved/in business rescue.

Local courses are now trying to sell their rights direct to overseas markets.

Its v grim - who is right/wrong etc is debatable - a lot of comments here :

Maybe they came to a last-minute agreement - Durban pics now on Racing240 - 8 secs behind live.
