I have a list of daily selections that I would like to automate, there could potentially be multiple selections in one race (in big races there could be 7+ selections). I thought the solution would be to create a stored value for "selection name". However I'm unsure of how to ensure that all selections for one race are captured.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks

Use the Text Comparison condition and paste the horse names into the Text Items box.

Thanks Weemac, I think I've done that (third screenshot). What I'm struggling to understand is how the text comparison condition links to a selection or multiple selections

You shouldn't be using the Nominated selections. You just place bets on every runner with the condition that the Current Selection name exactly matches one of your list of names in the List box. Guardian will only place bets if these 2 names match.

I have changed the selection criteria from "nominated selection" to "any selection"

However it still does not trigger when tested (most definitely operator error!!). The only other thing I can think is its "every selection" rather than "any selection"

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks

This works when there's only one horse in a race, however when there are multiple runners in one race the condition just picks the first horse from the list that meets the condition and not the additional runners who are also listed.

Sorry if I'm being a pain!

The rule’s probably not triggering enough times.
Tick the rule to trigger unlimitedly and use the condition (Number of place bet triggers condition) on the SELECTION is = 0

I use 'Every Selection'. Every time.

Never gives the issues that 'Any' does.

'Every' is for triggering a rule on all selections as they meet your conditions
'ANY' is for triggering a rule on a single selection if it meets your conditions (by testing all runners in turn starting with row 1)

As I try and finesse / mess with, my automation further, could someone please assist and explain what I would need to add.

I have a "place back bet" rule which includes a text comparison condition with a list of horse names. Say, for example there are six horses in the list in a particular race with 16 runners. I want to further reduce the number of selections by including a rule/condition that says the back bet is only placed into the market if the horse in the list is the 1st, 2nd or 3rd fav.

Also I have "keep unmatched bets" rule. Currently I have this set to "ANY" but tried to change to "EVERY" however this isn't allowed with this type of rule and I was interested to try and understand why.

Finally, I was going to add a Number of matched bets condition is equal to 0 to the Keep unmatched bets rule.....should this be on the market or the selection?

Thank you all in advance for you patience :)

Maybe have a look at this example which places bets on selections if they are being ridden by a jockey on the named list
It also checks that the runner is in the top 3 of the betting

So its quite close to what you want
