I think your right Pat. Western leaders are a joke on the world stage. In comparison ranked Modi, Xi, and Putin.
Just one example China & Russia waited patiently for coalition forces to retreat from Afghanistan so they could exploit the vast lithium and coca reserves. But more importantly continue with the BRI, China's mega project one belt one road bringing east to west ....

Yeah China are clearly the new world leaders when it comes to diplomacy, and with the BRI they're building infrastructure all over the world. It's one of way of making friends and influencing people especially in countries where the West have cut foreign aid.

Tough on the Western leaders when sanctions will hurt the West as much as they hurt Russia. Think I read something like 25% of the worlds oil and 33% of gas would be blocked - prices would go crazy. Then any export blocks will hurt Western companies hugely as well. And Putin knows it.

Medellín Colombia. I've spent the last couple of years learning some basic Spanish to provide some options. Quite fancy teaching English but it's so cheap work won't be a necessity. Covid poverty has slightly worsened what had become much safe place though so Puerto Rico is the backup option, although they're not as relaxed about people just rocking up and staying.
