Have a look around the forum my friend. There are constantly people asking for more this and more that, campaigns and requests for more charts and more buttons. I agree with you. BA has become a fat old lady, with more and more extra features demanded by clueless guessers that think more complex software will make up for their lack of basic understanding of the markets.
Despite my bitter rant, I still think BA is the best trading software on the market. Peter and the support guys do a brilliant job, and it's ok to love a fat old lady
The thing is as Betfair constantly update the api, BA has new code to work with the changes. It is doubtful a much earlier version will work.

She has been gradually improving in a number of different events and can apply herself to anything.
You're correct that due to the many changes betfair have made to the API and web site over the years, the old versions of Bet Angel wouldn't work any more.
If you wish to concentrate on one or two areas of trading then the other features can be switched off to make Bet Angel more streamlined.
The extended features of Guardian, Tennis Trader, Soccer Mystic, Market Overview, Excel integration carry no overhead unless you start them. Other features such as Dutching, Bookmaking, Automation can be hidden using the Features menu. In addition all the communications can be fine tuned to whatever suits your trading style best.
So if you want a lean sprinter, you can create one. If you want a football coach, making slower strategic moves as he watches his players make their own short-term decisions, then you can create one of those too (with the help of Guardian, Excel and Soccer Mystic).
Once you've customised Bet Angel, just save the settings to a named file and load that from the log-on screen next time to start Bet Angel. That way, any of the features you've switched off during the customisation will never even be loaded and cause no overhead at all.

Thanks for the reply guys but it is impossible to trade with this kind of refresh from Italy: "250, 265 ".... probably not due to new software features, but I wonder how to act .... forgive me if I have not visited the old posts!! I hope you give me a hand ....

Far Far More likely to be a poor internet connection than the software itself.
Unless you are triggering bets using Guardian or some other way I don't see how this will matter too much. The biggest time delay is your brain deciding if you want to enter a trade. Milliseconds are no good to me.....I could use a calendar.

You are quite right, but most sports you can not betray the better .... I think Peter and others who work with him, should divide the software for any sport ... In short, a professional program for those who make trading software for veloccissimo who makes scalping (although I think of Betfair, do not rely so much speed in the scalp, the stock market is different) ... a software for those who want to betray the courts, a football and maybe even on a cricket, and so on. and of course ... but all professional un'pò paying more then boys ... it was just my opinion, the first versions were fast, but I do not think it depends on the software in Italy always come after you, who has an account uk, will always be faster than me .. I hope one day to make English an account ... I dream that Peter and others to other software, but always respecting the valid start of betangel ... forgive me for my English! !

if you don't need some of the features then surely you can just not use them
, It's not going to make any noticable difference to the speed of the software I dont think.
If your having problems with response times then that will most probably be a problem your end and not with the software.

Bet Angel is designed in two different 'layers'. On one layer you have the communication and bet handling process to Betfair. On the next layer you have the user interface. The two are separate so that each can operate independently of each other. This allows us to add features to the user interface without impact performance of the separate betting layer. So if we add a new 'widget' it just calls the same routine as all the other components. It doesn't drag the speed down. This gives us the flexibility to add new interfaces without having to impact or recode the Betfair interface.
We also provide you with a raw feed to Betfair which you can modify depending on your needs, location, internet reliability. If you do not modify this you may not be getting the best out of Bet Angel. It would be possible for us to make Bet Angel 'feel' fast but that may result in you not getting the most reliable data back from Betfair. So this is why we give you control of that.
