I am using a scalping bot that issues FoK bets. For the most part it works just fine but I don't want the offset bet sitting in the market indefinately I want to be able to scratch the trade at the best available price after a fixed period of seconds. I had one stuck in the market for 25 minutes today while I was away from the screen and it cost me dearly.

I've tried the Fill or Kill Time condtion but it doesn't seem to work doesn't seem to work, presumably it counts the offset as part of the FoK bet.

We need a "Time Bet Unmatched in the Market" condition it seems.

Does anyone have a suggestion/solution.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The fill/kill time condition is for testing how long its been since a fill/kill bet (the opening bet using fill/kill) was last in a market
It has nothing to do with the offset bet in anyway

What you want though can be done, there's an example here which does exactly what your wanting

Thanks Dallas, once again. I'll check this out.
On investigation however, my unmatched offset bet didn't just sit there for 25 minutes. It simply disappeared from the market. It wasn't cancelled, closed, greened or matched, it just vanished into thin air, leaving me to lose almost my whole stake while my back was turned. It's not the first time it's happened and there apears to be no defence against it apart from watching every transaction, which rather defeats the purpose of automation.

Unless you issue an instruction (ie, via Bet Angel) there's only Betfair who have the ability to cancel an unmatched bet without any action from you.
They can do this for a number of reasons, in racing markets a common reason is if a runner is withdrawn and they have to reform the market

But you'd need to speak to them directly for the exact reason they are removing your bets before you can build something into an automation file to counter it

This was an Under 2.5 goals Football market. There is no way that the price did not move downward by at least one tick for 25 minutes in the absence of any on-pitch action to cause it to rise. I wasn't watching, but I've checked the "commentary" on Flashscore for the period and nothing of note appears to have happened. The market closed while I was away from my screen so I have no way of seeing whether and by how much my offfset bet was breached.

If you contact Betfair they will be able to tell you exactly what happened to it and when it was cancelled and why
You'll be able to give them the bet ID they issued by checking you BA logs

Even without a bet ID as you haven't placed 100s of bets each minute if you give them an approx time if it was a back/lay bet the approx price and stake they'll find it no problem

How do we get in direct contact with Betfair? there doesn't appear to be a "Contact Us" area and the "Help" section just keep cycling back to the FAQ's page when you click on "Get In Touch".

Their API team can be contacted directly by opening a ticket here
