Some believe that BJ will get away with it because he hired a top Barrister to respond to the questionnaire and argue the rules didn't apply as his home and place of work are one in the same and a government can't shut down as the country still needs running etc.

I have no clue as to the legal ethics of that. Just saying.
I'd love to see BJ's face when he realises his barrister was just taking the piss, as well as his money. :D

Bugger! I'm taking a thread I started myself off-topic.
Has to be the most of topic ever.
Staying on topic in a thread is a bit like staying on track with a fitness plan. Sometimes you just feel like pizza 🍕

Seizing the superyachts of Putin and his entourage is feeble when people and infrastructure are being bombarded. Not suggesting Nato should wade in militarily. But the only "good" thing about all this is the Western media seem pretty disinterested in what i think could turn into a creeping conventional conflict.
My big hope is that Putin (and his pyramid) decide talking is better than shooting.
Be a bit flexible, be the genesis of the new detente. That would be a worthy legacy.
Right now Putin's legacy looks like shit.

Russian troops being surrounded in Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel area near Kyiv, cut off from supplies. If this effort is successful, it will represent the biggest defeat of the Russian army to date and President Vladimir Putin will have to start worrying about the number of Russian prisoners of war being captured. Anders Östlund, a contributor at The Center for European Policy Analysis, notes: "This is huge. If confirmed, and Ukraine manage to keep the siege, this could become the first major victory of the war. An entire Russian army could be erased.”

My money is on this war/invasion being over within a month or two when Zelensky gives Putin what he wants.
Not so sure Pat, it could take much longer. The Ukrainian army has formed a new special Agricultural Division which is going to be very difficult to beat, they are reportedly very well equipped.
Turns out that wasn't even a joke, according to BBC News : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHpX6_B8ArE

Forget BBC News, watch Sky News. Their anchorwomen would make Ivanka look ugly. :D

The west are planning even harsher sanctions. That could send Putin into even further harsh activities.

Hi there. I'm not a regular poster here, due to language barrier mostly.. just reader for almost 10 years for now (btw thanks to Euler and many other forum members - all the information here was a big help when I started my first steps in Betfair trading, there is no so pro community in my language).
So..  it was hard to get past this thread. I'm from Ukraine, living in its part that still more or less peaceful apart from regular sounds of siren and blusts of air defense every day. It's interesting to read all the opinions here to understand how you see there in GB what's happening here since we have different sources of news. Funny to see you are aware even of local farmers trophies and agricultural division - big jokes here as well)) As for "nazi" stuff who somebody mentioned in this thread.. it's hard to explain in two words.. after 8 years of this russian brainwashing conveyer we take it as white noise, not more - all this bullshit about nazi batalions, bio labaratories, war pigeons and ducks with infections (no joke, they showed it on a federal TV a couple days ago) and so on. The sad thing about it - this conveyer works, a lot of people in russia really believe in all that, including on squads of nazi-pigeons)). There a lot of families here in Ukraine who has close relatives in Russia, including myself as well - a lot completely stopped any communication since the war started, because they have really alternative universe there - they still refuse any war at all, including devastated Mariupol, bombed Kyiv and Kharkiv, killed by their bombs civilians day by day - their TV telling them another and that's all.. the brick wall, insanity.

I hate this new trend of referring to Russian soldiers as "orcs". Dehumanizing them to celebrate their deaths easier.
And who are they then? There are mass looting, regular shooting of civilians, raping on the occupying territories now. This stuff is hard to watch.. Most of russian soldiers here - contract ones, they knew where they were going and what for. Their captives calling sum $52 per day as a "bonus". f*king animals

So, as far as I can see you used google translate to write your posts. It must be super easy for you to provide us with your original russian text you used. Can you post it here for everyone to see?

Did you say somewhere on the thread that you're Russian?

Why would a Ukrainian post in Russian?

No I don't, can you explain?

Also, you shouldn't be ashamed of your language barrier and post more regularly, because you obviously know it well, colleague.

Yeah but the official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian and this guy is obviously not pro-Russian so why would you assume his original text was in Russian and not Ukrainian?

Its not important, it's just interesting to me that you would think his original text would be in the language of the people invading his country and not his own. That's pretty arrogant no?

Again its not important but I just find it interesting.
