Hi, not sure if I'm doing this right but I can't get it to work.
I'm trying to get a lay bet (or back bet) to automatically be placed after the first one is matched. I've set the offset bet from the dropdown menu in the ladder, uncrossed the use global settings button, set the number of ticks, and ticked the fill or kill box with a 43,000 second delay to allow for around 12 hours. I place the first bet and set it to keep, so that it matches while in play and it gets matched when the odds go up to that level in play.
After that, it's supposed to put the opposing bet on at the offset I set, but it doesn't. It just leaves the first bet on and does nothing else, so can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong or give a step by step guide on how to do it? All the manual tells me to do is exactly what I've been doing, but it doesn't work.
Automatically place lay bet when back is matched

Hi Dallas, thanks for the reply.
I've set another one up and set OBS Studio to record the whole thing, so I'll watch it back and see what happens later, then I'll get some screenshots off it.
Thanks, Pete

I watched one back that I left on last night and that one did actually put an opposing bet on, the weird thing is it was with exactly the same settings.
The thing with this though, is it matched before the market went in play so the opposing bet was placed before it went in play and was set to cancel. So it cancelled when the market went in play (I don't think the odds went that high in play anyway, so it didn't really make a difference) but is there a way to set it as keep by default? That way, if it does get matched before the market goes in play it will keep the opposing bet and not cancel it.
The screenshot of my settings with the ladder is this:

The logs from when it didn't work were this:
26/03/2022 13:15:17: Market changed to Fritz v Kukushkin - Match Odds
26/03/2022 13:16:41: £ 1.00 Lay bet placed on Taylor Fritz at 1.2. Entirely unmatched when it initially reached the market. Ref: 262748720855 ( Fill or kill bet with 43000 seconds delay. Offsetting by 20 ticks. )

26/03/2022 13:17:08: Market changed to Shapovalov v L Harris - Match Odds
26/03/2022 13:17:45: £ 1.00 Lay bet placed on Denis Shapovalov at 1.35. Entirely unmatched when it initially reached the market. Ref: 262748871765 ( Fill or kill bet with 43000 seconds delay. Offsetting by 35 ticks. )

27/03/2022 02:00:00: £ 1 unmatched bet (Ref:262751043996) was killed.
27/03/2022 02:36:36: Market has been suspended
27/03/2022 02:36:36: Market is in-play
27/03/2022 02:36:36: Market has been unsuspended
27/03/2022 03:36:36: Market has been suspended
I did do quite a few more than that and did them all one after the other, I've just shown the last two as they're all exactly the same and it saves space. So it's done the first bet, and then nothing happened after that. The one at the bottom was just killed because it was longer than 12 hours since I placed it, didn't realise the match was that late.
The logs from the one that did work were this:
27/03/2022 22:11:05: Market changed to McDonald v A Zverev - Match Odds
27/03/2022 22:11:46: £ 1.00 Lay bet placed on Alexander Zverev at 1.2. Entirely unmatched when it initially reached the market. Ref: 262915611602 ( Fill or kill bet with 43000 seconds delay. Offsetting by 20 ticks. )
27/03/2022 22:12:21: Modify bet persistence 262915611602 from 'Cancel' to 'Keep'
28/03/2022 00:51:13: £ 1 of unmatched bet (Ref:262915611602) was filled before remainder was killed.
28/03/2022 00:51:13: £ 1.00 Back bet placed on Alexander Zverev at 1.4. Entirely unmatched when it initially reached the market. Ref: 262922655261
28/03/2022 02:10:41: Market has been suspended
28/03/2022 02:10:41: Market is in-play
28/03/2022 02:10:42: Market has been unsuspended
28/03/2022 03:23:46: Market has been suspended
So on that one you can see it placing the opposing bet a couple of hours later, but it also says the bet was filled and on the others it doesn't. But if you look in the Betfair profit & loss for the previous ones that didn't work, the bets were matched:

You can also see that only one bet was placed and it ran until the end of the match and won, with no opposing bet to trade out:

So it seems that it's working some of the time and not others.
Thanks, Pete

In the log for the one that didn’t work, It does not show that the market went inplay.
Is guardian updating the markets your trying to bet in ? If not your offsets wont trigger.
You can use the automation rule (keep bets (price dependent)) that will allow you to select,
To keep the back or lay bets.

Thanks for the log, that does clear things up as to whats happening, the problem is along the lines of what Dabbla has just said
I can see your log is from the main screen and when you switch to another market the previous one is no longer being refreshed and getting any updates from BF so non of the offsets bets know when its time to trigger
If you are trading and switching between multiple markets you'll need to add them to Guardian so they can continue to be updated in the background while you have another open
Those that triggered OK will be the ones you kept on your main screen

Ahh ok, I'm using the Trader version which I don't think has Guardian, so can you only do this on the Pro version?
For the most part, yes.
Do you get the display options, if you right click on a markets name ? If you do, you could try opening multiple one click or ladders screens. Then you can try minimizing them or resizing them. Basically just keep them open in the background.
That's they only work around i can think that might work.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
The trader version only allows for one market at a time to be opened and the right click options will only give you eitherDabbla wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 11:11 amFor the most part, yes.

Open market on one-click screen
Open market on ladder screen
So unless upgrading to the Pro version he'll need to trade just one market at a time when using offset options and only switching once the offset has triggered

That sounds like what I need then, I'll probably get 3 months of Pro first to try it and then get the year after that.
Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone
