Hello everyone.
I am a big newbie to Betangle and the Belfair market. But I have been into horseracing and greyhounds for many a decade's.
I have spent the last two weeks looking at my activities with the world of gambling and what I can do to improve it. To be honest with the normal bookies in the long run you can scratch a profit if you are lucky, but all the elements are against you, including yourself. So if I could not find a way around this then with all the increases on the finances coming I would have to knock it on the head.
Them I watched one of the Betangle YouTube vids, then a couple more, then read quite a bit and decided to download the pro version on the 14 day trail.
The first day was just spent watching this man on the screen teaching me what to do, some bits I watch twice. Went to bed with a head ache and a lot going on.
I have to say, owing to illness I am sitting at home Infront of my big PC, so need something to do.
Day two, had a check to see what I thought would run well in the morning, was not looking for winners but was see who would give me a good run at the market and not go from 6.0 to 300.0 in the first 6 furlongs.
I duly sat at my PC not knowing what to expect. The first race I liked the third favorite as it opened 4pts over where it was meant to be in the betting, so I did a modest back bet and then put the lay in 1pt over where it should be in the market. Last couple of mins it got backed down and I got the price and I then hedged the bet. He came second last but I won a modest return.
Well during the day I placed 29 market bets in back and lay moves and 25 were positives. I messed up two as I did not get the lay on and lost my bet. One was 0 on a hedge and the other one I had more lay than back silly sod I was. But ended the day making a 64% profit. Remember this is practice mode. Now is this for real.
Day two I did something different, first I watch more vids with that man again. and he introduced me to the market overview which I must say is wonder. I struggle to understand all the graphs on the advanced graph but this is clear to me and gives me the information I need. I also have the guardian with all the races loaded so its just a click and open for any races. and I have the clock box open. I decided to have six ladders running two lines of three with plenty of room at the bottom to show the unsettle bets. This worked very well.
In the browser I have Betangle just in case I need to look something up, Betfair to see the main show and to watch the race, and another site I use that gives me data.
One O'Clock came and away we went and I started with a 3p lost, opps. But by the last race at Chelmsford I had 26 races backed of which 4 were loosing races. The main reason I did not get the lay on as the market went the wrong way. But the other 22 bets produced a 72% profit.
Now I am doing as instructed and only playing the practice in small bets i.e. increments of £2 with a max of £10 based on a £80 bank and in two days it is sitting at £25.34.profit.
The rules
1) Don't break your rules on your bank. Never exceed your race limit.
2) Hedge out whenever you are making the profit margin you have agreed with yourself.
3) When you start a race, concentrate and react to the market. Then take a break.
4) Don't Rush.
Now for the big question.
My wife asked it, when I turn this live will it change, is what happening in the practice mode happen in reality?
I know that it might sound a stupid question, but I have to make sure that the only chance this will fail is me.
Thank you for reading.
Paul

Hello there.
Practice mode is best used to familiarize yourself with the software and its features etc. Once you feel comfortable enough I would suggest to use minimal £1 stakes in live mode to see whether your strategy is profitable. Usually it takes a lot of time and effort to develop a profitable strategy so it's very unlikely to stumble upon one right away, but not impossible.
There was a similar thread recently that you can read for more advice : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25392
