I have been betting on Australian races since Baghdad Note won the Melbourne Cup in 1970. I cannot remember a month I have recorded a loss although many months have been rather lean. I would love to be able to scalp however, I am a failed scalper. I have looked and read every available article but somehow, I cannot succeed as a scalper. Can anybody help with a few clues, or would it be best If I accept defeat.
I was going to say much the same as SS. We've all got our strengths and weaknesses so you might be better off working and breaking new ground on the things you're best at. I started off scalping because it seemed straightforward, quickly realised it wasn't but probably stuck with it for too long. There's more to be made from swings with less risk, but you're doing pretty well betting. Don't know how old you are, I've been betting since I was eight-years-old but I certainly can't say I haven't had a losing month since then. :)

Thanks for the reply(s). I don't want to scalp to make lots of money, only for fun - I will continue my ""real"" betting. As I bet only for fun I don't bet large amounts but so far this financial year I have averaged just under $2000 a month. Once again can anybody give me some pointers on scalping

What have I missed? Why does Newcastle have some group racing on today?

After the Rosehill track couldn’t take the rain on Saturday they shifted the rest of the meeting to Newcastle today. Racing NSW had to do that because some of the races were needed as lead up races for the upcoming “Championships”.

Otherwise they were thinking of putting everything back one week. But that is harder to do.

Thanks, I missed that. I knew they would re-schedule but didn't realise it would be so soon. Should have paid attention.

I've noticed that from time to time Australian races get delayed and rescheduled. For example the 7.0 race is now listed on Betfair as 7.30. When this happens does our guardian automation get rescheduled?

The markets always seem to be spot on with these bog Sydney tracks, as opposed to Melbourne where you may as well pull a name out of a hat if it's heavily rain affected.

So it must have stopped raining in NSW this week for all meetings to go ahead.

not surprised, 1% ROI at randwicks a poor use of tokens imo

recovered a bit in past 7 days,
going light as fk this week, and proper capital allocation from now on and forever

should be an easy session on the stakes

I got 2.4% on that race but I feel people are laying the field to avoid turnover charge.
