Hi,
I'm looking for help setting up automation for a strategy i have, but not sure if its possible? I want to back the fav at post time when its over a certain price then as soon as that bets taken i want to lay this same horse in the place market. It has to be the same horse not the betfair fav in the place market as i know sometimes these can be different . I'm struggling as i don't know how to connect two different markets when the second bet can only be activated after the first condition is met.
Thankyou for any advice
kind regards sandy
back bsp fav and lay same horse in place market
On your Fav backing rule use the stored value tab to store the selections Betfair ID on the on the event
Then on your lay rule apply it to ANY selection
and use a stored value condition to test
a selections Betfair ID
is equal to a stored value named
(enter whatever you called the stored value on the back bet rule)

Hi dallas thanks for your reply.
I sort of got the idea how to do this but when i set them in action it did the back bet on the fav in the win market but then it also did the lay bet also in the win market, not in the place market, i did only have the win market open in guardian though, do i have to have both the win and place market open to be able to activate correctly? sorry for not completely understanding

Yes, you'll need the place market also adding to Guardianredbasil wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 5:06 pmHi dallas thanks for your reply.

You'll can then do it one of two way
Put your back bet rule in one file (and apply it to the win market) and your lay bet in another (and apply it to the place market
Or the easier way if you are using the new V1.59 version of Bet Angel would be to keep both rules in one file, and add a 'Market Type' condition to both rules
Selecting the 'Win' market for the back rule
and the 'place' market' for the lay tule
Hi dallas ,
Ive just been testing this today and don't think I have got it at all... In some cases the lay bet has been taken in the place market when the back bet in the win market has not been activated. Also i had an instance when the back bet was placed in win market but it just then layed the lowest odds in the lay market which wasn't the same horse. I'm not sure ive got it right at all im sorry to say. ive got the easy part which is back the bspf in the win market at above a certain price but then the next bit of laying the same horse in the place market does not seem to connect at all. sorry im not as competent regards automation but appreciated your time thankyou.

The stored value should be set using the stored value tab on the back bet rule (not its own rule), tha way it can only trigger if the back bet does and on the runner thats backedredbasil wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 1:39 pmHi dallas ,

If you send a screen shot of the stored value tab from that and the stored value condition from the lay bet rule i'll check they are correct
Hi dallas this is a screen shot of the stored value tab for both the back bet and lay bet .... it actually doesn't make much sense to me now... thought i had a grasp yesterday.

On your back bet rule your Stored value is storing the selections lay price - this should be its bet ID
and on the lay bet rule its a stored value condition you need to use rather than another stored value
As shown these attached images
Back rule
Lay rule
If you look at the logic used in both the stored value and then the lay bet condition you should begin to see how it ties together and knows which runner to lay

Hi dallas,
Thankyou very much for this i really have so much to learn about the potential of automation... im a million miles away but have got this only with the benefit of your help. I can see the logic behind it now which is a big help rather than just being given the information which you pretty much did anyhow. Is there a link on here that would help me more with my understanding of how to educate myself more? yet again thanks for your time, i am very grateful.
kind regards sandy
